i live in vegas and here are my recommendations: red rock state park, all the thrift/antique shops in downtown, the flower room at the bellagio, the peppermill fireside lounge. have fun!
My favorite place is actually a couple of hours from Vegas, in Utah. It's about a 2 hour drive - but so worth the drive. It's Zion National Park. It would be so beautiful at this time of year. Or, the night time shows at the big hotels like Bellagio, such as "O" are always fun to go to.
Highly recommend seeing the Folies Bergere show at Tropicana... supposedly they are closing their doors soon, forever. It is the longest running showgirl performance in vegas... has been running for 49 years!!!!
the old downtown is where the beauty lies. and the new wynn is a must see.
I live here too and recommend The Springs Preserve to get off of the beaten path of the Strip, and if you have your daughter, you should see the Dolphin Habitat and White Tigers at The Mirage. You will be overwhelmed so ust enjoy all and more that there is to offer...it is constantly changing!
Just got back from Vegas, myself (doing some travel writing for American Airlines). I'm loving the Wynn right now and the show there, La Reve, is amazingly beautiful. If you spring for "VIP" tix, there's a monitor in front of your seat that shows you what's going on backstage and underwater. Oh, and you get a bottle of champagne and strawberries ;)
burger bar (at mandalay bay) is pretty yum - and my favorite thing has always been the fountains at bellagio. no matter what i do, i have to go there. my favorite show is at night when the water moves to "time to say goodbye."
visit the madewell store at fashion show mall! i've not been there yet, but i've heard it's got some cute clothes!
in-n-out. i know it's a cali thing, but they have one in vegas too. it's deeeeelish. circus circus is fun too (but way overpriced, like most things in vegas). have fun!
I love the title of this post. Yeah for 30 Rock and Tina Fey! Enjoy you're trip :) I too want to go to there.

Stay at Red Rocks Resort. It is beautiful! And make sure you eat at BJ's Pizza. Not a Vegas original, but we don't have one in our area.
