Garden surprise

It was incredibly rewarding to come home to a bit of a garden harvest. Our garden has gone nuts in the last few weeks. I am finding that the small and simple things are making me smile more often ... this first year of gardening has been delightful. To all you gardeners, what are you enjoying from your garden?

At the moment we're a bit overwhelmed.
Cucumbers, carrots, celery, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, kohlrabi, cabbage, zucchini, and summer squash.
We're having 3 dinner parties this weekend just to keep up!

ah, those veggies look lovely! currently, i am enjoying nothing from my garden except the occasional basil plant... the hot texas sun has completely destroyed any hopes I had for a harvest!

Isn't it just the best when you actually have vegetables in your garden? We have yellow crooked neck squash, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes and fresh arugula. I love it.

I remember when we used to grow our own cucumbers.. I was about 5-years-old and was so amazed how a tiny flower can turn into a vegetable and then I can actually eat it :)

now we only have flowers. but there is really nothing like having a fresh salad with the vegetables you have grown yourself :)

Broccoli! which is the only thing that seems to be flourishing this year. Yesterday, our garden was flooded again. We may have to stock up a bit more at the Farmer's Market for the rest of this year...

There is something very satisfying about picking something from your garden and then using it to cook with or eat. Right now I have tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, cucumbers and another squash. Yummy!

I couldn't have a garden this year at my apt, but getting fresh veggies from my friends always makes me smile. I swear, they just taste better than anything store bought.

That's so cool. I love fresh veggies right out of the garden.

Woohoo! Very impressive - I always feel extra-satisfied when my veggies resemble the shop-bought variety at least a little bit.
French beans are my best crop this year. Yumyum!

I have potted plants, but they're doing very well. My sage and California poppies are growing like there's no tomorrow. And my rosemary and lavender are filling out slowly, but steadily.

I love my little garden — it gives me a lot of joy.
