Domino Magazine Online Revival...

Domino Magazine Comeback
Domino Magazine Comeback

It seems to be a good couple of weeks for hearing about beloved magazines bringing their content back online. Last week it was exciting to hear about Gourmet and if you haven't heard yet, this week I read about Domino bringing back its archives to Brides.com. They have already started to put content up here -- hallelujah! Sadly neither one of these magazines will be back in print, but if you didn't save numerous back copies -- at least we can see their gorgeous content again digitally.

Modern Cabin

Chicken Point Cabin
Chicken Point Cabin

Wow! What a place this would be to relax and getaway. This modern cabin is called the Chicken Point Cabin and is located in Northern Idaho. Low maintenance materials were used and the space is intended to be a seamless extension to the natural setting. What a beauty! I can't get over that revolving wall of windows. It is designed by Olson Kundig Architects. (via the Contemporist)

Letterpress Business Cards

Letterpress Business Cards

Courtney is right -- these stunning yellow hand lettered letterpress business cards for Kate Murphy Photography are absolute perfection, they have me swooning. The beautiful logo and design is by Jessica Hische and I love how the yellow pops, even on the computer screen.

Music Monday : Wax Tailor & Charlie Winston

Wax Taylor & Charlie Winston

I hope you had a nice weekend! Do anything fun? I took off a little early last week here on the blog because I attended the EVO conference -- it was amazing and I hope to talk about it soon.

For Music Monday, I am throwing a little hip hop your way because I came across this sweet motion graphics music video called "I Own You" by the French band Wax Tailor (featuring Charlie Winston). Not only is the video super creative, but the lyrics are thought-provoking about how media and technology has influenced the way we live our lives. As always, I would love to hear about what music and videos you are digging lately.

Guest Posting...

I've been thinking a lot about picnics items lately, so I shared some ideas in a post over at A Cup of Jo. I am guesting there this week -- stay tuned.

Tennis Inspired + Wimbledon

Have you heard of the recent match this week between Isner and Mahut that was the longest tennis match in Wimbledon history? Wow, could you imagine playing 182 games lasting 11 hours and five minutes? Yikes. (read more about it here.)

All this tennis frenzy, got me thinking about the playful tennis fashion show and line that Jean Paul Gaultier put on for Hermes in the Spring 2010 -- what a fun show that was. How many of you play tennis?

Streetfsn

This quirky photo by street fashion photographer Nam from Streetfsn instantly made me smile. Isn't this one of the most stylish ways you've seen people dress matchy matchy?

Aubin & Wills

Aubin & Wills
Inspired by the clean and classic looks from Aubin & Wills today -- and from a design perspective, their logo and branding is adorable. Don't you love the little fox?

Gourmet reborn?

My husband just let me know that Gourmet is coming back, well sort of... They are relaunching an app/magazine designed for digital format and calling it Gourmet Live. They will be sharing lots of recipes and content from their previous 70 years. Should be something to check out. What are your thoughts? Read more about it here.

Thanks Mac!

Classy Mid-Century Modern Update

It is amazing to see how far great vision and taste can go to transform this drab 1950's house into the stunning Mid-Century modern home above that happens to be located in Salt Lake City. What a fabulous and inspiring before and after undertaking! Isn't this one a beauty? Wish we were in the market to buy right now -- because you really don't come across too many of these beauties in Utah. I am going to pause now, and go pick my jaw up off the floor.

All photos by Tyler Gourley and you can find more about the home here.

Ramona Falls 'Russia'

Ramona Falls

Hope you had a nice weekend and got to honor your dad and the special men in your life. My brother Jake shared me this sweet music video by Ramona Falls. A tad on the sad side, but surreal and well done. Tell me what you think? Happy Music Monday.

The Inspired Life -- Cole Haan

Bravo to Cole Haan for an excellent Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign called "The Inspired Life". I can't believe I haven't seen it yet! Todd Selby did the casting and photography of people that inspired him -- such a genius!

The World Cup Ball

Who is watching the World Cup? The New York Times made this sweet interactive diagram for the World Cup evolution of soccer balls.

Let's Colour Project

The video segment below is a very beautiful clip and idea for the "Let's Colour" project. It is a worldwide initiative to transform grey spaces with vibrant color -- a mission to spread color all over the world. Isn't that rad? They've already spread color to Brazil, France, the UK and India.

After work this week, Mac (my husband) has been volunteering and painting houses for the less fortunate, so this idea is especially on our minds the last few days.

Rittenhouse

Enjoy looking at lots of lovely items from the Australian Rittenhouse line.

Eley Kishimoto + Werk

I am fascinated and intrigued by Werk Magazine's no. 17 edition which is a documentation of photographs, sketches and musings from Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto of the UK fashion/design company Eley Kishimoto. It is a treasure to see what is inside -- lots of unique fabric and sketches, you can take a peek of more of it over at the Creative Review. Aren't the different covers fabulous? Also, after seeing them on the CR Blog, I remembered Chelsea posting about them last week.

(I believe 1000 issues come out in July -- and I'm not sure if it is available for purchase yet.)

Petit Moulin

My friend Stephanie reopened her etsy shop Petit Moulin and I couldn't be happier to see what she is selling! She has lots of vintage stuff she picked up from France, and the cutest ready to go kits for a Paris or macaroon themed party. Also, remember those sweet garden markers I used for my herb pots? Well she has some of those too!

Breakbot

Happy Music Monday! This colorful watercolor-esque video and funky summer song I came across on cliptip today, called "Baby I'm Yours" by the French band Breakbot made my morning. Hope it does the same for you! It is directed by Irina Dakeva.

Shop Pod

There is a beautiful collaboration between Sherry Olsen and the Japanese line Fog Linen. See more at Shop Pod.

Happy List...

Here are five things that made me happy this week. What about you -- what made you happy this week?

Last night we finished this book and started this book for our book club.

I mentioned it earlier -- but I have really been enjoying these Peonies all week long.

Peonies

On a stormy night this week, I combined a few recipes on hand and made some yummy Stroganoff.

Consciously paused and played, something I really want to do that more often. Our daughter is such a ham as you can see below eating an ice cream cone after swimming. We did lots of fun activities this week -- soccer, crafts, trips to the bookstore and multiple stops to get more ice cream cones.

Also thanks to some twitter friends I found out I am in July's issue of Lucky Magazine this week.

Have a most wonderful weekend my dears!
