Meg Ruth Photography + Giveaway

Meg Ruth Photography

(*The giveaway is now closed and winner has been announced)

Last spring I won a photo shoot giveaway by Meg Ruth Photography, so I decided to have some photos of our daughter taken, and above are a few of my favorites.

Cool part? Megan is kind enough to offer a photo shoot for one of you readers also! This would be a great opportunity for one of you lucky ducks to get some fabulous shots. The giveaway includes a free session with a disc of 15 of the winner's favorite images and 15% off any prints purchased for 1 month after they go live on the proofing site. Megan was a joy to work with, and it was a lot of fun to watch her do the shoot -- she is really great with kiddos. Check out her website here.

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment below -- it is open until Sunday evening, and the winner will be randomly selected and announced on this post on Monday! **The winner can be located in Utah, Vegas, or the Los Angeles area or make arrangements to get to one of those areas for the session. You will coordinate with Megan, of course.

Good luck everyone and thanks Megan!

* The winner randomly selected through random.org is Mo from Pink Argyle. Congrats Mo!

BA&SH

ba&sh

I wish I would have come across the line BA&SH sooner because I adore it. It is a simple and chic line designed by Parisian childhood friends, Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief who decided to create the ideal closet of clothes they felt like wearing everyday. I like many items from their various collections, the images above happen to be from their Summer line. Can't wait to see Fall/Winter!

Gabrielle shared a post to a website that is super clever -- it immediately made me grin. Adele a creative mother in Helsinki, tries to imagine her baby's dreams and captures them while she is sleeping, you've got to check out the rest of the photos -- what a awesome idea!

week 29

I've been feeling a little under the weather the last few days coupled with being quite pregnant -- hence the light posting and slow response to emails, I will be better next week. Amazing Book art by Cara Barer (via Style Swoon)

I really love this place designed by Rethink Design Studio out of Savannah. I enjoy it when my husband sends me awesome links -- and today we are off to celebrate his birthday! Check out more options like the ones below from their website. Man Shops Globe - Down Under

Linda Gregoriou's Home

Every time I watch an episode of Man Shop Globe after it is over I sit for a moment and think ... wow that was incredibly uplifting, and inspiring. Being constantly impressed by what comes from the land down under, I was especially intrigued by the Australian episode I watched last night, and I just had to see more of what the artists were creating.

Anna Wili + Samantha Robinson

Like these incredible paper sculptures by Anna-wili Highfield that she decided to start creating out of paper for her child's room. These amazing handmade porcelain by Samantha Robinson -- some of which she cast out of her belly while pregnant. Then of course the creative genius Sibella Court -- her shop, book and lovely sneak peak at Design Sponge.

Sibella Court
Linda Gregoriou's Home

Also, all of the aboriginal art which is absolutely stunning -- the colors, the patterns and meaning behind them. It reminded me of seeing Linda Gregoriou's home showcasing this type of gorgeous art a few years ago from Vogue Living, so beautiful!

Who are some of your favorite artists coming from Australia? How many of you watch Man Shops Globe? Did you know you can now get episodes on itunes?

Music Monday : Active Child

Active Child

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

A few weeks ago my music guru brother Jake shared with me some new to me music that he thought I would like called Active Child. On their website they describe the singer Pat Grossi as a choirboy-turned-indie pop musician and when he throws in the playing of a harp -- boy, you've got a unique and interesting sound. The song I like is called, "When Your Love is Safe" and he is totally right -- I really dig it, I hope you like it too. The video below is from a Pitchfork Acoustic session, the same song is on itunes but has a different vibe. I hope they release the hauntingly beautiful acoustic version sometime soon. If you want to hear more, Active Child was also recently on Morning Becomes Eclectic.

Dace

DACE

One of my awesome sponsors Dace has updated their website with their new hip Fall 2010 line and it is gorgeous. I love the black and blue color palette, the great patterns, and styling -- it feels very fresh and hip. Another cool thing is that from now until supplies last, you'll receive a free stationery set which includes a note book, pen and postcards made by The Paper Whale with every Fall 2010 purchase.

Thanks to Lovelorn Unicorn + Clever Nettle I really want to get my hands on the Japanese Fudge Magazine. The photos and styling looks amazing -- although, I am frequently drawn to the simplicity of Japanese style. Anyone seen an issue in person?

I came across this photo over at Style Bubble and it instantly made me smile. If you are a lover of color, you've got to see their other photos from Andreas Murkudis' store. Wow, what a fun place this would be to see in person.

Evo Conference

A few weeks ago, I was invited and sponsored by Avery to attend the Evo Conference : The Evolution of Women in Social Media. It was an extremely enjoyable conference, the setting and venue in Park City were perfection, and I was very impressed. The two ladies who put on the event Rachael Herrscher and Jyl Johnson Pattee are dynamite, and I left the conference feeling incredibly inspired being around such a large group of fine women.

A few of my favorite highlights from the event included:

  • Seeing how social media and the internet has made a huge difference in helping people grant children wishes for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The quote that stuck with me from that address was, "Courage is not the act of fear, but acting in site of it." - Mark Twain. It was an incredibly moving address, and my heart goes out to that foundation and what they stand for.
  • The closing keynote address about Authenticity by two inspirational women - Karen from Chookooloonks and Brené Brown from Ordinary Courage. I took copious notes, and there were many things that stuck with me including, "What is your intention?" In life... in everything...
Keep your eyes peeled for the Evo conference coming up next year, it is definitely a great one to attend. Thanks to all involved and the wonderful and talented speakers.

Charming Wedding

I can't get enough of the lovely wedding photos by Kamp Photography for Jessie and Tyler's charming wedding. The bride and groom are both graphic designers and the details of the event are delightfully well done.

I love the letterpress balloon wedding invitation created by the couple -- and those jam jars for favors are so precious! See more of the details of their sweet invite over at their website One Plus One and more photos over at Kamp Photography.
