Two films that I saw recently that I enjoyed were, "Arranged" by Diane Crespo and Stefan Schaefer. And also the film, "Mostly Martha" directed by Sandra Nettelbeck.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-144976013999744963.post-36775455804755412942009-05-31T21:08:28.523-06:002009-05-31T21:08:28.523-06:00I've seen some good films lately, too. Summer Hours is a new French film with Juliette Binoche that I liked. And, I know this is a big blockbuster movie, but the new Terminator is surprisingly good. The best of the big summer movies so far, I think.Citygirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06018714069821356955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-144976013999744963.post-79912916142278890442009-05-29T07:21:26.507-06:002009-05-29T07:21:26.507-06:00I loved that movie! I just saw Sin Nombre, produced by Gael Garcia Bernal & Diego Luna--a gritty & graphic depiction of immigration, but I would still recommend it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyXJpDiXrr4Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04976084393356817988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-144976013999744963.post-13863446000247096272009-05-28T21:26:54.204-06:002009-05-28T21:26:54.204-06:00this movie is amazing and i love kate del castillo...this movie is amazing and i love kate del castillo.rubihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11451959486295069161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-144976013999744963.post-38476632523491939252009-05-28T18:05:28.744-06:002009-05-28T18:05:28.744-06:00lovely! thanks for sharing! i'm so out of the fore...lovely! thanks for sharing! i'm so out of the foreign film loop because my small town doesn't show them in any theaters and i never hear about them.
but in college i took a fabulous film as art class and i watched probably 50 movies, most of them foreign! some of my favorites were the scent of green papaya from vietnam, children of heaven and like movies from iran, after life from japan, bicycle thief from italy, any satyajit ray movie, and my name is ivan from russia. dang i miss that class!johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06903144540678766411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-144976013999744963.post-31892118561334381132009-05-28T16:40:27.019-06:002009-05-28T16:40:27.019-06:00I saw a great Swedish film a few weeks ago, called...I saw a great Swedish film a few weeks ago, called Låt den rätta komma in (Let the right one in)and I loved it. Unfortunately, because I do not speak the languages of the most recent films I have watched (in German and Hindi) I can't recall their names. The German film was translated to something like "The Stranger"?
If you like "action" films in two languages, the American film "Body of Lies" was very interesting to watch, especially with my arabic friends, and gives an interesting viewpoint on the war.
And I agree with the girl above that "Precious" looks amazing! Yesterday I watched the trailer for "Precious" - a movie that Oprah and Tyler Perry are putting out. It looks like a real tear-jerker - almost like a more modern "The Color Purple" - but it looks good nonetheless.Lauren From Texashttp://laurenfromtexas.comnoreply@blogger.com
