Persepolis

The film Persepolis looks quite intriguing, and the reviews I've read are thumbs up. Anyone seen it?

I'd recommend seeing it at least once. It wasn't 100% what I thought it was going to be, and in the end I was just a tad bit disappointed with the ending, but still totally glad i went and saw it.

I did. It's a wonderful film, not only for what it tells, but the images as well, superimposed 2D graphic animations that give a beautiful depth to the image. All surrounded by a memorable soundtrack and a script that combines humour with the harshness of a story about dictatorship and chauvinsim thru a kid's eyes. Deserved the Oscar.

I recommend reading the book first and then going. There are some lovely nods to the days of silent, puppet & paper cut-out animation (like "Prince Achmed"). Enjoy!
