Lars and the Real Girl

Lars and the Real Girl cracked me up this weekend. I'd recommend it. What good films have you seen lately? (Thanks Andi.)

I absolutely adored this moving. It was such a sweet/funny story. I left the theater with a big smile on my face.

Similarly, I just saw Be Kind Rewind this weekend. I went in with low expectations and left incredibly pleased. Another feel good movie that left me smiling.

Wrist Cutters: A Love Story (despite its morbid title) is also another great/happy film I've seen recently.

I watch a lot of movies.....ha.

I thought it was sweet but still terribly heart wrenching. I also saw Dan in Real Life and it was heart warming despite how I'm getting a little tired of seeing Steve Carrel play the same sort of role. Oh, the documentary called Planet Earth is absolutely amazing! The cinematography is just stunning so it's definitely a must see on my book. :)

This isn't a TV show but the show Mad Men is quite interesting. It's about the advertising business set in the 60's. Fabulous costumes and for a second it seems like it is really from that era. ;)

oh i can't wait to see this!

You have to see this indie film "Starting out in the Evening" -- it's about an out-of-print writer (played by Frank Langella) and a literature graduate student (six feet under star, Lauren Ambrose) who tries to use her senior thesis to revive his work.

I've just seen Penelope. It got bad reviews and it is a little cheesy, okay a lot cheesy, BUT I loved it. The colors, the set, and the styling are amazing and I love any movie that is pretty. Plus add in James Mcavoy and the fact that it's a fairy tale and I'm hooked. I also loved the styling and costumes in Mrs. Pettigrew lives for a day but the movie was just okay.
Loved Lars and the Real Girl.

Just as La Misma Luna (under the same moon) and I really liked it.

Kind of put a face on the "issue" of immigration for me.

great! I'm glad it's good. I'll probably rent it this weekend.
I just watched Martian Child with John Cusack. Kind of slow, but very good. It made me love my kids for all their peculiar quirks...

I just watched 2 Days in Paris. I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. It totally cracked me up.

just saw Lars and the Real Girl, Gosling did a great job playing out his character's psychological transition from totally dysfunctional to somewhat functional
