Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! It has been a LONG week for me mainly due to my busy little one's teething, tantrums, and throwing-up. What do you do to calm your nerves after a long day or week? I would love to hear any of your suggestions. Next week, I will be a better blogger for sure. Thanks for sticking with me, lovely readers. I wish you a fabulous weekend.

FYI: I was reluctant at first, but I have joined the twitter revolution. I will probably also post some eye candy on my tumblr site this weekend.

I just went through a tough round of teething and illness with my youngest (just turned one). After it's all over, we get ice cream or bake cookies and chalk it up to one of those things that will hopefully make us laugh in retrospect.

We all had norovirus last year, and I have never seen so much vomit and poop. It was absolutely awful as we went through it. But we now look back and laugh at things like my husband slipping on vomit on the bathroom floor or me changing my shirt four times in an hour due to someone throwing up on me. It was wild, but I seriously do laugh about it now.

Hang in there and have a lovely weekend!

Poor thing - that sounds rough. Unwinding for me is a big (BIG) glass of wine and a big coffee table book full of beautiful images.

when my daughter was teething I took a hint from one of Martha's "good things" - freeze a wet washcloth and let the little one munch on it, it's crucnhy and cold and feels good on their gums. Just trying to help, I know it can be a crazy time!

I unwind by doing pilates and crosswords!

Just a long, hot bath at the end of the day here. And the knowledge that with toddlers, all things truly do pass. Good luck!

I was going to suggest that you freeze a wet washcloth, but someone already beat me to it! As for relaxation, there's nothing like clean sheets, mint tea, and a novel. Or you could watch old black and white movies on Turner Classic Movies.

I get a babysitter or make my husband watch my kids while I get out of the house and go...anywhere, really. A walk, to a friends house, to get a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Ususally a little time out helps me remember who I am, then I can cope with the hard times.

Do a little yoga. Then settle in on the couch with a diet coke, ben & jerry's phish food ice cream, and watch a great movie. I guess the junk food kind of counteracts the yoga, but it makes for a good night anyway!

So sorry to hear about the teething time. I know its no fun. I tried a lot of things, but nothing helped as much as using baby orajel...at least on occasion.

Oh dear :( It sounds like you need to take a good 3 hours to YOURSELF! Of course, that's me, I like to be along with a hot skim latte and my journal when I need to unwind! Though, I think I would agree with p, a large glass of wine! And maybe a chick flick to make me laugh :)

Sending love your way!

Mmmm i bought some fresh, juicy strawberries this week. Well, What i do when i have a baby that's throwing up.. is i take pictures (not of the throw up), and look for the perfect polaroid. Or go chill at barns and noble. Or man, i wish we could have explored the soho/east village area more! i have found some really cool stores/galleries and places down there. Anyways so what i've done to to calm MY nerves this week was dance, get outside and explored.
ps. can't wait to see the lil devil in less than two weeks! and of course my fav. sista too! Love ya.

Rachel-when it's been a hard week with my two, I get my girlfriends together and we have a girls night out. sometimes at a resturant and sometimes aat one of our houses and we stay up way late and laugh and eat a ton of stuff that we shouldn't eat. I live for my girls night outs!!

We're going through a cold and teething right now, too - it's not easy. For me, it's a bowl of ice cream or a glass of wine, relaxing in front of Jon Stewart, taking a bath, or taking a nice long walk. Just find your own way to relax and get some quiet time, even if it's just for a few minutes.

We're teething over here too. And tantruming. And just generally being defiant. I have three challenging ages at my house. My favorite way to unwind after a long, hard day is an early bedtime for the littles (sometimes facilitated by a little car ride on those night that I can't stand to read another picture book) followed by a big glass of wine and a stack of lovely magazines. I ended many days that way last week. Whew!
