Look at these cupcakes my sister-in-law Holly and friend Caitlin brought over for me yesterday. Aren't they hilarious?! Thanks gals.
adorable! i don't think i could eat the mashed potatoes one, though.
oh my goodness!! those are hysterical!! i don't know if i could eat one without thinking it would taste like the food it was made to look like. but i bet they were delicious!!!
Those look so real. What did the gravy taste like?
How clever - I love it!
ha i love that! so creative!
these are totally totally adorable. i just smiled outloud....haha! :)my sis and i just started a blog...it's modest, but we are working on it! www.nixonsleeves.blogspot.com
I still haven't tried the mashed potatoes and gravy cupcake (a little nervous to dig into it). The gravy is melted caramel.
I'm dying to know the ingredients used to emulate the foods. This is so incredibly great! What a fun gift :)
omigosh, i definitely have the cupcake recipe book that it's from!!!they came out awesome!
this are so weird! i think i love them.
ha. i totally have the cupcake book with that idea. they did a great job. that isn't easy.
Yummy:)) How creative.
What book is it from?! i am so loving it - it's presh!!
I think, after looking at the food, the looks like the pat of butter could be a lemon starburst, and the peas look like lime skittles. The only thing I can figure for the carrots are a dried fruit like papaya or it's like a fondant. I love the eggwhite bones. They're a nice touch.
These are so great, I have to share them on my blog. What are the peas and carrots made out of???
Rachel? What did I say?!! No....more...cuteness! I mean seriously? How much fun are these? Happy, happy, joy, joy!
Those are SO cute! I love the idea.
THOSE ARE SO COOL!
Hi, I'm a random stranger who was emailed your blog address by a friend. I basically have got to have the recipe and directions for how to make those shaped cupcakes in order to continue on living lol. How did she do that? Can you post the directions, please? Thanks! Haven't ever seen your blog before, but I'll be reading it from now on like it's my job!
yeah, look up the book "hello, cupcake!" you'll find that same design in that book. VERY cute ideas, and a lot of fun. always the topic of a party.
i think that's the first i have seen...dinner cupcakes...thats very interesting
These are straight out of the cookbook, "Hello, Cupcake!" by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson.
lol, those totally came from paula deen... the carrots and butter is starbursts, the peas are skittles and m&m's, the chicken legs have a donut hole under the frosting with a white chocolate bone in them and they are covered with corn flake crumbs.. i love these, they are so fun to make with the kids
this is so cute! i am going to have to try this sometime :)ps. looks to my like the carrots are made from orange star bursts that have been cut up.
These are fantastic and I've linked them on my blog. Thanks for sharing.
What's the gravy made of?
Chicken bones are white chocolate that they piped onto wax paper and let dry. The crispy chicken is frosted flake cereal, the mashed potatoes is vanilla buttercream, caramel sauce and a lemon starburst, peas and carots are lime skittles and orange starburst cut into cubes.
well all you who thank you know what you are talking the peas are not skittles they are runts yes the butter is starburst and so are the carrots but the bone is wafer chocolate harden in the fridge
This is what i call funky food
My 5 year old granddaughter picked these for her class birthday party. I am soooo willing to make them for her. Cant wait to see her classmates reaction
that is so cool ill have to make it sometime
I really appreciate your thoughts and ideas, thanks for reading!
