Gourmet Cookies + Patterns

Do you see the cookies within the patterns? I just got back from the grocery store after flipping through the most recent Gourmet magazine. I came away stunned by the rich-colored, gorgeous spreads and photography by Romulo Yanes that I had to tell you all about it. They even turned the beautiful photos into recipe greeting cards. Gourmet also has a historical cookie recipe chart currently up on their site, check it out here.

Wow---stunning! These are incredible images. I've always been a little intimidated by Gourmet since the recipes are so, um, gourmet...but with eye candy like this, who needs the recipes!?

I actually didn't like this cover much—the colors struck me as quite retro and not really celebratory...

Fantastic! December issue? I'm always nuts about Gourmet's photo spreads, too! The teals and purples and crimsons, and I love how they give the whole page to the picture.

When this issue showed up in my mailbox I felt like Gourmet made it just for me! You have to love the combination of vintage fabrics and delicious treats. I made the Oatmeal Lace cookies last night and was so pleased to have them with a cup of tea. Gourmet can make almost any dish look beautiful, but this spread is truly fabulous!
