Dressing like a French woman

I am intrigued with this idea that Joanna and Joslyn talked about of dressing like a French woman for a New Year's Resolution. Sounds good to me. While walking around the streets of Paris this fall, it was very rare to see a French gal that wasn't wearing tall glorious boots. I am still on the hunt for the perfect pair. Any Suggestions? (besides these) I really like the ones in the right photo.

ALL the ladies in Rome were wearing them when I was there in November.

I had the boots (a pair I'd gotten last year at DSW), but not the right pair of jeans to fit my booty and not show my rear so I restarted my search and found a great pair at alloy.

so chic!

sorry, I realize that was more of a jean suggestion than a boot suggestion!

Yes, I have been waiting for months to recommend these to someone (since at $1164, I certainly cannot afford them without selling my car):

I think the worn look of them is very *french*.

i love my corso como capri boots in black and the best part is that i found them on ebay for 50.00 which is a bargain since they retailed for over 350! Anthropologie had these and they sold out before they could even mark them down.
Frye makes cute boots and the quality is superb...try the lisa inside tall zip boot or the slouchy ones
Also, look at rachel comey and golden goose on totokaelo.com

Try ebaying Charles Nolan boots. He has a wonderful pair of black knee-high patent leather croc boots! (They are 50-60% cheaper on ebay than even on bluefly!)
