the Internet

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I had a pleasant weekend "unplugged style" because my internet was out, and my phone was on the fritz. It made me realize how connected I have become to technology, and how grateful I am for modern inventions and conveniences. Have you ever read the world internet usage statics? It is eye opening to see how relatively few people out of the world population are online, very interesting. We are all so lucky. How long could you go without using the internet and your cellphone? How often do you consciously unplug yourself from technology?

Since I bought my iPhone, I am pretty much never unplugged... A big chunk of my income is dependent upon the web. Without it, I wouldn't be able to telecommute as a freelance writer while traveling for the other facet of my career.

Totally agree with you.
During any of my trips, I could help finding out the nearest internet cafe to keep intouch with the people back home.

I unplugged over the holidays- kinda. E-mail checking only. It was hell at first and then bliss. My resolution is less internet time- hard to reconcile when running an online business!

this christmas holidays, which is a summer beach type scenario here in australia, i've decided to go lo-tech and the only techy thing i will take is my mobile and ipod.so it will be 3 weeks of space.it will be good to see what comes out of that.
