Toddler-style Thank You Notes

As my toddler keeps growing, I find that there is this insatiable need to find fun activities to help keep her stimulated and fulfilled, she is one busy little girl. I'm a little behind of my writing of thank you notes, so I thought why not get my daughter involved. Using watercolors and blank white note cards (and yes, she wanted to wear her cape) we had a fun painting + thank you note activity for us both. What activities do you like to do with your kids?

Her hair is getting so long and she's so grown up! Wish I could be around more to do the fun stuff with you guys. Great idea with the cards. p.s. love that she loves the cape :) can't wait to see you!

what beautiful cards! I have 3 daughters and they tend to get a bit out of control when the paint comes out. Maybe I should lighten up and let them go for it?

The two year-old I nanny had just gotten into drawing. He takes colored pencils and makes me draw the shapes he knows "draw heart, draw star, draw circle" over and over while he tries to gain the motor skills to copy me. It has become an obsession with him, and I am happy to oblige!

Oh, what a great idea! I have a budding artist too who just turned five and she will L O V E this project. We have seriopusly painted every rock that we could find in our yard already and been through several sets of paints. Why didn't I think of something fun like this?

As a kindergarten teacher back home in Oz, I too am always looking for interesting art projects to do with the children. I love to incorporate nature as much as possible and one of our favourite things to do is go outside everyone with their own basket or bag and collect all types of leaves, grass, flowers, sand and come back and make little islands on trays or collages on paper. So beautiful to watch children at work. Your daughter looks like she is having such a great time. Your blog is stunning. I will be back for sure!

Great idea! I used to send my kids' art to their grandparetns as cards for every occasion. Little artists can be prolific and you can't put it in the trash ( cause if they catch you..YIKES!..(going on experience here....)

great idea! we turn paintings into birthday cards for grandparents, that's always fun. what we LOVE to do in the summer is "paint" rocks with water. then they dry in the sun and we paint them again...and again...toddlers LOVE this, seriously.

L O V E that idea! So adorable! I should do that with my son.

Cole likes to cook, so we do that together once in awhile. He's such an adult at 9. :)

Suz : they are Tolix chairs. If you are local to SLC sometimes you can find them at the Sundance outlet, yet they also have them at Pottery Barn, and DWR.
