Camping out Defender Style
Isn't this a tough way to camp out? My parents took shots of this hard-core camper out in the UT desert, and my, do I still love those rugged rides. They even used solar technology for power, very cool... a good way to live off the grid. Maybe we would go on more camp outs if we had something like this. How many of you like to camp, any upcoming plans? (Click all photos to enlarge)
Also, they took shots of these cave etchings aren't they so neat? (Thanks Dad)

I think I prefer camping on solid ground :) We're planning to cycle down to Brighton, England this summer and camp out overlooking the ocean! I can't wait.
oh, how i love the defender!!! a great way to camp!
The Tojo just doesn't do it for you when you see one of these babies huh? I don't blame you. Those things are awesome. So cool that your parents went out to the desert. Visiting the grandparents in St. George?
I'm the girls camp director for my church for the summer...don't so much love camping so I'm hoping it goes better than it did when I was a teenager.
lol, a group of us are ACTUALLY going camping upstate at the end of this month. I am terrified, I have never slept outdoors, and I've watched Eden Lake, Blair witch project, and many others...
the cave etchings are sweet!!!
those cave etchings are soo cool!
Is that near Moab? We live in Utah and LOOOVE camping out- S. Utah is a favorite for us. We climb down there (in Moab) quite a bit.
My husband and I have a Honda Element, where all the seats fold back to create a bed. It's awesome for car camping, but not as awesome as that defender!! So cool.
My favorite Southern Utah place to hit is probably Escalante's Calf Creek Falls. Seriously if you get a chance to hike it, DO! It's GORGEOUS.
Wow, so cool. I bet it's a lot less buggy in that car, too! :)
great way to camp...cool beans
I LOVE to camp. We're going to Desolation Wilderness near Lake Tahoe in July but I'm thinking that's too long to wait. Southern Utah is one of our all-time favorite places! Heaven on Earth.
love the tricked out defender, so awesome! but wouldn't make much sense in new york city:(
Our camping plans have been squashed twice now by rain.... and it's STILL raining. At this rate, we won't be camping til Christmas!
How do you get up there??
