Chanel no. 5 the film/ad

This romantic film/ad for Chanel no. 5 featuring Audrey Tatou directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (see Jean-Pierre's list of films here) makes me want to try even harder to like this classic scent. The cinematography is impeccable, watch it here.

She makes me want to be like her...the mystery of her is intoxicating (whoever shot the film must be one hell of a director)

No! You gals don't like No 5? I think it's amazing- it smells different on every single person- like the best fashion adapt to the body of the wearer. And they still grow the roses for the scent in Provence! Je t'aime!

Lovely film but the scent...eh. I'm with you, this does make me want to give it another try though.

Don't feel bad, I too have never liked the scent but I love the commercials.

HAHAHA - I totally understand about wanting to love it...every time I smell it I feel kind of sick. HOWEVER, Chanel CHANCE is my signature scent...so that's a thing, right?

Also. Audrey Tautou is GORGEOUS in the mini-film. I literally swooned when I watched it.

I can't freakin' wait until the Coco Chanel movie comes out!!! I love Audrey Tatou - has anyone seen Priceless, also with Audrey?

I wear Chanel Chance too... and dare I say it I think the bottle is even more beautiful than the No5 bottle!

I love this film - I know it's really just another commercial, but with rampant product placement everywhere else, I get to call it a film. It's what I think my dreams should be like (instead of dreams about getting ready for work and buying, like, eggs...).

The ad is perfection though I too struggle with this scent. I'm afraid the best I can do is Les Exclusifs Eau de Cologne. I have also lately been enjoying the Egoiste Ads. Ah..Chanel, perhaps not no. 5, but everything else is perfect...

What a beautiful ad!! Achingly beautiful.

I have to say I quite dislike the scent of CHanel .05 though - it's a very old-fashioned scent that doesn't actually date well.

I SO want to like it too. I just can't get there. But that ad campaign is fabulous!

adore this little film -- so beautifully shot; actually watched the interviews on the making of it on the chanel site last week.

J'adore Jean Pierre Jeunet! Oh how I want to live in his movie-world! I could go on and on excitedly praising each bit and each technical part of this little film, but more to the point, it gives my heart that magic feeling, that tingle of something so special and perfect, it's like a dream. Wow.

Now I have even more motivation to work on my art portfolio to apply to school in France!

I'm with those who don't like No. 5, but I know it, like other fragrances, smells different to everyone and on everyone. I prefer Coco Mademoiselle. It's a little more youthful, though not classic like No. 5.

you should check out Foutaises, a short film by Jeunet which was the genesis for Amelie
