The Red Shoes

I recently came across the book, "The Red Shoes" adapted by Gloria Fowler from the original Hans Christian Andersen tale and illustrated by the talented Sun Young Yoo. The story is about the everlasting mother and daughter bond, creativity, and of course an evil Queen and her daughter sneak in to give it that fairytale charm. The black and white detailed illustrations are beyond exquisite, out of sight. I love how this book is artistic and out of the norm, something that would be on a art lover or hip parent's shelf.
