The art of French Cooking....

I was pumped to find an old copy of this Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Vol. 2 at a thrift store for a few bucks. I don't know if I will ever attempt Lobster, but it is fun to thumb through. I especially like the cover.

Old cookbooks are the greatest, especially such a classic! Good find, indeed!

Great find. Are you looking forward to the movie? That looks like it's going to be a feast for the eyes. Paris in the early 50s... bliss.

A few years ago I read My Life in France...and then began looking around for original copies. I realized quickly that they are worth a lot! Check amazon--you might have one of the $900+ editions. I found one hanging out in a dear friends pantry a while back and she couldn't believe it. Great find! (and not just for the $, but so fun too)

You must read "JULIE AND JULIA" written by Julie Powel. It is about a 30 years old woman that decides to creat a blog about recipes made from "The art of French Cooking" - hilarious!

I love the cover. What a great score. I think people think French Cooking it's harder than it really is. Can't wait to see what you make.

I have it in the orange cover and have it on display as I love the pattern so much. Though I've been too timid to try one of the recipes.

Oh, this is so funny, I've done posts about how I've searched out used book stores all across the country hoping to casually stumble across an old copy of of this book. Glad to hear that someone finally accomplished my goal!
