Alicia Martin Cascading Books

These stunning cascading book installations by Alicia Martin are insanely cool. I wonder how long they took to make?

Wow...I so want to photograph my son (2years old)sat at the bottom of the pile...and name the photo
"I told you not to pull out the bottom book!"
it also reminds me of our closets right now (read-don't open) ;-)

Without having watched the video or inquiring further, I imagine she built a wire or such framework on which to affix the books. It wouldn't even occur to me that they weren't real books.

I've heard of crazy sculptures before, but boy, this must have taken forever to put together and for someone to have the imagination to put this together is wonderful! Thanks for sharing.

Alicia is a close friend of mine. The second picture is a work she did at Casa de América, a cultural meeting-point for south american cultures downtown Madrid. She also become famous for her photographs featuring books. (I own some of her works as well, hehe).
