I've always gravitated toward a simple, pared-down aesthetic over one that's self-consciously trendy or fashion-y. I feel like a lot of things that are "in" right now are sort of over-the-top in that head-scratching sort of way. However, I do feel a more "classic" resurgence coming on, and I, for one, couldn't be happier.

P.S. I think both women look fab.

I love the simple, classic look- with a touch of couture (not necessarily expensive couture, just something that adds a little color, or 'bling')...be it shoes, a scarf, a necklace, sunglasses, etc.
~and couldn't agree more with the confidence piece.

I really wish I had a bit more confidence because I think it really makes a different between making a simple t-shirt and jeans look good and looking sloppy. Hmmm...and I think getting some confidence in my appearance is bit more budget friendly than buying a bunch of new clothes. (Thanks for putting that thought in my head!)

I definitely do go for simpler looks - I feel like sometimes I look silly if I'm trying to hard to be trendy. and I have to say that the light gray jeans and black top look is one I often go for myself.

I love seeing trendy things on other people, but I have always been most comfortable in the classics - a good pair of jeans, a well fitting tee, some flats. I usually add a colorful scarf and unique jewelry to make it more interesting, but I definitely think confidence is the best accessory! Even the trendiest people can look bad if they don't have confidence in the look they are trying to pull off.

I can never do without my trusty loose white T. I love that it stands the test of time. It's a little tricky keeping it pristine white with all that wearing though. Haha!

That is exactly the style I want! I am a simple girl, but I haven't figured out how to get that classic "look". I think it comes down to accessories. A long necklace, a few bangles...I still have to work on that.
