Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! I had people guess what airport we landed in with a photo of this awesome installation I shared on twitter and people guessed right, pretty quickly. Do you have an idea? If you do know, do you have tips for the area?

Have a great weekend!

Sacramento! If you love ice cream like I do, you'll love Vic's in Land Park. And Ettore's off of Howe makes the best scones in the world and it's such a fun place for lunch. East Sac (on H St?) has a great called Selland's market with yummies to grab for a picnic. It's super fun to rent tubes and float down the river, or be more adventurous and go up to Coloma to go river rafting. And Tahoe is my favorite place in the whole world. It's about a 2 hour drive. Have a blast!

You must try Big Spoon frozen yogurt on J St - delicious!

Walking the American River Parkway, floating the American River, kayaking Lake Natoma or catching a Rivercats Game are great ways to spend an afternoon.

Cheap (but great) Eats - Petra, El Palmar, Burgers and Brew, Ink

There's also some great wine tasting east of Sac in Amador County.

If you're still here tonight (Saturday), you must enjoy Second Saturday Art Walk all around midtown and downtown Sacramento. Thousands of people, street entertainment, art showings -free! It typically starts around 4pm -

Hello Sacramento : ]
The Naked Lounge is a coffee shop in midtown that everyone I know absolutely adores. I highly recommend the "Bowl of Soul", it's a chamomile latte that is divine.
And you're just in time for Second Sat, always an interesting night in midtown : ]

You can venture into Shenandoah for tons of free wine tasting, head to Placerville to explore historic Main Street or head to South Lake Tahoe ~Natalie

Sacramento! I just graduated from the University of California in Davis, just 20 minutes outside of Sac. Check out the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings and have a burger at Burgers & Brew in Davis :) Have a great trip!

I think I'm too late. But for next time....

For eats I would go to Ettore's, Gunther's Ice Cream, and Silva's Sheldon Inn!

I wish I would have seen this earlier! I have lived in Sacramento all my life except for a few years in college. But, it sounds like you got some great tips from other readers! Hope you enjoyed you trip!

Yay, Sacramento, my home town! The suitcase installation is called "Samson" and it's by artist Brian Goggin (in case anyone was curious).

My favorite places to eat are the Pheasant Club in West Sacramento (I dream of those garlic steak sandwiches) and The Virgin Sturgeon, which is right on the river.

Also, the Crocker Art museum just expanded recently and it's phenomenal in there.
