Music Monday : The Cinematic Orchestra

Over the weekend I watched Ingredients, an interesting film about the local food movement. The film gave me a different perspective while at the Farmer's Market when splurging on a variety of yummy heirloom vegetables. It made me respectfully happy to give money directly to those hard-working famers. In the film, I was also struck this particular song, it gave me goosebumps, it is called, "To Build a Home" by The Cinematic Orchestra. It is a great one, hauntingly beautiful great.

Find this tune here on Amazon or itunes*.

The pianist/singer is Patrick Watson and I was lucky enough to see him live this summer, it was pouring rain and about 6 degrees celcius and he was Ah-Mazing!!
Such a great song!

The Cinematic Orchestra was one of my favorite bands in college. They have such a wonderful sound. :) I've heard good things about Ingredients but have yet to watch it. I'll definitely have to make it more of a priority.

Thank you for your music monday, i really enjoyed your previous findings!
This is with this song I discovered Patrick Watson and his wonferful musical world. Just listen his albums "Close to paradise" (2006) and "Just Another Ordinary Day" (2003). And the last one is good too. Here is "Drifters" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qigmz2YWZtY

One of my very favorite songs. It was used for a dance last year on So You Think You Can Dance which is one of the few dances that makes me cry every time I see it. Please take a look! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YFACU54KL4&feature=player_embedded
