Music Monday : Ólafur Arnald

Up for Music Monday today is something soft and soothing. Have you heard of Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnald? You may be most familiar with this cool artistic video. (They often have all kinds of creative musical stuff going on in Iceland, eh?) I was wanting some mellow tunes over the weekend and was happy to discover his compositions and am charmed by his Living Room Songs which were filmed in his Reykjavik apartment. I enjoy how he sometimes mixes in strings and electronica with his piano tunes and is experimental. If you like to let your mind unwind to soft piano chords like I do, you'll appreciate his compositions, they are amazing. Let me know what you think...

*Pick up Living Room Songs if you want.

Oh wow. Love. I've been looking for some new mellow instrumental music.

Also, I've been reading your blog for a month or so and love your sensibilities and taste. I'm thinking about starting a wee blog of my own and you are quite inspiring!

Thank you for sharing this. Every now and again I will hear a song that will make me pause, close my eyes and just let my mind choreograph the sounds I hear. Blissful.

I'm a huge fan of Olafur. I keep coming back to his music time and time again. There's a piece called faun that never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
