Beautiful Turkey

My sister is studying abroad in the Middle East, and I so happy for her, because back in the day I did the same thing and now we can talk about some of our favorite spots. These are a few shots from her recent trip to Turkey. Aren't those lanterns insane and I have always wanted to see inside of Haga Sophia, although the photo above is of the Blue Mosque. I haven't been to Turkey and from what she describes it is phenomenal, it is now on my top five places to visit. What is on your top five list? Do you have any fun summer plans? I have a serious case of wanderlust right now...

I'm finally headed to my all-time #1 dream destination - Morocco!! Its an 8 day guided private excursion beginning in Casablanca, working our way through Fez, the Sahara by camelback and ultimately winding up in Marrakech. I'm out of my mind with excitement!

I really want to go to Rome... it's so cliché but I've never been and really want to experience it myself. In the next 2 months I'll be going to Brussels on the hunt or the best chocolate, to Dresden to see the Frauenkirche and to Prague because I heard it's supposed to be a very fun and young place to be.

I've been to Istambul few years ago and I really wish to go again! I went there full of aprioris, and left with magical memories! This was totally unexpected I would fall in love with this city! Other places I recommend: Amsterdam, Madrid, Paris ( i'm french can't help it! ) Marakkech!

I just visited Istanbul a few months ago and it's become my favorite city ever since! From the history, to the food and the insane nightlife it was such a wonderful experience! Next on my list is Greece!

Why would anybody want to see that desecrated monument that those barbarian turks took from the Christians?

Hagia Sophia! That would be my #2 in places I want to visit the most. Cave of the giant crystals is #1, but I think you have to be a researcher to be allowed. :0( What an awesome tradition of studying in the middle east. I hope I get to go too some day.

That is the blue mosque not Hagia Sophia! I went last year, the image is incorrect!

Turkey is beautiful. I was able to visit with my husband and my family before I had kids. We can't wait to go back one day. It is exotic, ancient, and so different from places we had been before. Loved it!

Wanderlust is now in full swing. I'll be traveling a lot this summer for work, but unfortunately the Haggia Sophia is no where near my route.

Turkey should definitely be on your list! So much to see in Istanbul as well as Cappadocia. Visual feasts for the senses and camera :) I can't make a short list as I find that visiting anyplace out of my usual routine is a gift and an adventure. Trips I dream of, though, do include Bali, Japan (specifically the Miyazaki Museum), anywhere in the UK, and India for the textiles and food. We are counting the days until we go to Vermont--to escape the Houston heat and for summer camp! Thanks for having such a great blog. I try to check in as often as possible and still enjoy music recommendations you made years ago :)
