Standing together...

Last week Mac and I adventured into the redwood forrest at Muir Woods and came away from the experience with a heightened sense of gratitude and wonder.

What stood out to me most and I am still thinking about is this one battered down burnt tree. It was charred almost to the core but still standing and hanging in there. What marveled me was how a group of younger trees grew a tight-knit circle around this lonely charred out tree. I like to think that they grew up this way to protect and surround 'the one' to give it strength.

This beautiful scene in nature humbled me. The more we stand together and help one another, the stronger we are. My heart goes out to the East Coast, I hope you and your families are all safe.

Amen! What a beautiful photo and thought. Even just a little support from each person can make a big difference.

I felt humbled and awed at Muir wood as well. It is a magical, spiritual place and reminded me to be loving and gentle. I have not been keeping up with Sandy, I am too scared to see what happend!

Muir Woods is always incredibly uplifting and grounding at the same time. I lived in the bay area for years and though I didn't go there often, whenever I did it was a profound experience. Now more than ever I think it's important to have these moments of connection.
