Roger Duvoisin

This 1961 book called 'Veronica' written and illustrated by Swiss artist Roger Duvoisin is fun to flip through. I enjoy his illustration style, and really -- how could you not like a story about a hippo? Roger has illustrated other children's books including this book and this Caldecott winning book.

Oh YES! Roger Duvoisin is SUPER GOOD! You might have seen 'The House of Four Seasons'? It's my favourite book EVER and illustrated by the clever Roger! Your blog is always full of good stuff, Miss Black Eiffel! Thanks for these lovely images. I heart 'em.

Too funny -- considering I just thrifted a brand new copy (in pristine condition) of The Happy Lion yesterday for a $1.50. Love it!

What a lovely surprise to open your blog on a cold night and see something to truly brighten my mood - the same person wrote and illustrated my absolute favourite childhood book, The Importance of Crocus, I would have read it a thousand times! Thanks for helping me remember it xx
