I always like to see a list of favorite children's books. As the author of a new children's book of 10 stories for the under 8's, I need to keep myself informed of what is popular.
Maybe my book could be considered as a possible favorite?

the paper bag princess, by robert munsch (because it has the most brilliant heroine ever) and slinki malinki (because how can you not love a lurking, thieving, mischevious cat).

oh my very favorite is 'caps for sale' by esphyr slobodkina....i used to act it out in my livingroom {i mean, when i was like 4yrs old..of course ;)}

but there are so many good ones.....

'lizzy and harold' by elizabeth warthrop is very sweet, i gave an old used copy i found to my best friend for his birthday

'i like you' by sandol stoddard warburg also makes me laugh, i like quote it to my friends...sometimes i send them text messages saying things like "you know how to be silly that's why i like you boy are you ever silly i never met anybody sillier than me till i met you" etc etc... good stuff!

I also loved Mr. Pines Purple house! I still have my childhood copy. I also loved pretty much all of William Steig's books, Wump World by Bill Pete, and Blueberries for Sal.
