Tuesday Giveaway: Flip and Tumble
I often find myself leaving my reusable bags at home or (urggh) in the car, so when I came out of the grocery store yesterday with a cart of brightly colored flip & tumble bags full of groceries, it was one of those "yes" moments where I felt as if I was making a slight difference in the world. Flip & Tumble are my favorite because of the cute little way they roll up into a ball and compactly fit inside your purse. They have recently added new colors to their collection, I really like the hot pink and green.
Another bonus ... the endless uses of these bags continue as my toddler tosses the balls around as play toys and today she learned how to unravelled and hang them over her little shoulders filling them up with all sorts of things around the house. She begs for the pink and thinks they are the best thing ever.
Flip & Tumble is kind enough to offer 5 lucky Black Eiffel readers a bag! Enter a comment below (no anonymous please / one per person) about a favorite 'make a difference' moment (green or not) and you'll be entered to win. Enter by Sunday May 17th at midnight.
Thank you Flip & Tumble!

I love these bags! I started wrapping all my presents in reusable grocery bags and such. Or I make my own gift box by cutting and inverting a cereal box and finishing with a pretty bow.
OOh la la! I need these in a big way! I live overseas, sans car, where I buy groceries several times a week and have to walk them home. these would be easier to carry and remember than my usual grocery bag.
in terms of making a difference, I changed all our bulbs to "green" versions, recycle everything (though that is a law here), and don't use any air conditioning systems :)
This would be so perfect to stow in my bag or car or even on my bike! Thanks for the give-a-way ... pick me!
i looove these!!! cuteness!
anything not being used gets unplugged in our house!
The bags are so fun--love, love love the colors! I really try to recycle everything I can and reuse things. I am trying to limit the amount of things I throw away. Especially with cups. I try to carry a thermos everywhere!
these are great!! i stopped buying plastic bottles.
I don't use water bottle but have a reusable one, all my grocery bags are reusable, and we try to recycle or compost almost all of our waste!! I adore that pink bag too! So perfect!!
I've started giving reusable shopping totes to women I love on mother's day and earth day (Mother Earth).. corny, I know, but trying to help everyone make a differnece
oh dear, I love these! As for my make-a-difference moment: my roommate and I used to save all the paper we used and drive it and unload it at a special dumpster in the grocery store parking lot. But then they took it away! Luckily at our new house we're able to have our very own recycling bin and I think soon we will recycle more items than we throw away.
these bags are fabulous! being from santa cruz, i should be a much bigger hippie child than i am. i always forget my reusable bags, and i think that the bright colors would all but jump out and hit me in the face on my way to the store.
in the spirit of being green, i do walk to the grocery store! living in la, that's a big deal. thanks for sharing!
Love these! Here's mine - replacing my old water heater with a tankless water heater. It makes me feel good knowing I'm saving more energy and money now when I take a show in the morning.
yes, please!
I bought our first composter on Earth day. It is my baby step for this year. I've decided to take a new baby step each Earth day as my way of celebrating our pretty planet.
Both my personal and work electronic signatures on email include a caption that say "please consider our environment before printing".
i just bought some envirosax bags.. but could use more!
One of these bags would be so great. I love going the reusable route, but most are bulky and not nice to look at. These are far from either of those things. Count me in!
I convinced my college to begin a recycling program!
i have been using reusable bags for a while, but they are the big, bulky kind and i frequently forget them. i have been eying these for a while and would love to be able to put them in my purse!
I planted a herb/vegi garden. Its so wonderful to walk out and just pick what I need for dinner.
We turn our office lights off when we are not at our desks.
My favorite make a difference moment was when my HUSBAND showed up with groceries from the supermarket with the reusable supermarket bags. I was stunned and asked why HE decided to get them? He simply replied by saying he can carry his tools in it. Sure you are I thought to my self, but little does he know, I am convinced a cute cashier convinced him to buy them, which is totally fine because he is helping out.) Thanks girls ;) So winning these I am sure we can use them for more tool bags or for grocery shopping ;)
These resuable bags are so great! My make-a-differenc moment: my fiancé and I have started our own compost bin near our garden and we only set our trash out once a month since we never have enough, we recycle constantly and we use a trash compactor, plus everything that can go on the compost does. yay for being green!
These bags are great! Something I've been doing for a while is saving the comics page in the newspaper and using it for gift wrap. Especially great for guy friends who never seem to appreciate pretty wrapping paper anyway!
Let me try again, too many typos for one comment!
How fun!
My favorite make-a-difference moment was having these values instilled in me at a young age. My dad used to take us hiking when we were younger and our lesson was to always leave the place better looking than when we arrived - I still carry that with me.
yes please :)
i've been planting my own herbs and vegetables. it's small but i suppose it's still better than buying produce that has to be flown/trucked in.
love these. this is one of the next steps i would like to take for our family and earth.
we recently planted 2 trees in our yard, our growing our own vegetable garden, my husband rides his bicycle to work, we recycle, and just try to be conscious of our water and electricity useage.

I try hard to bring my reusable bags everywhere (and I'd LOVE another one for my collection!)
This would be a welcomed treasure for my shopping artillery! I frequently forget my bags in my car.
I'd like to make a difference by using this bag and giving up on reusable bags!
Yes Please!
We made a 2-liter bottle of pop into a bird feeder. It's a hit with the wildlife.
These bags look awesome! Hmm, my favorite make-a-difference moment was when I started recycling last year and when I started buying organic produce. Oh! Also when I stopped buying store-cut flowers and instead bought some indoor potted plants. When I get a place that has a yard, I hope to have a full garden of flowers, trees, and plenty of herbs and vegetables to cook.
I've been wanting a flip & tumble bag since I heard about them two weeks ago but just bought a baggu... I think I'd like these better. I've used my other reusable bag so often lately I def. need another!
I've been more aware lately of how much trash I generate and trying to be better about recycling and donating things that are still useable that I'm getting rid of.
These are nice!
I usually try to bring my own bag to the supermarket. I also sell the clothes I don't wear anymore. I like how the foreigners in my area (that includes me) exchange books, instead of just leaving them on a shelf at home.
This isn't so much a thing I did on my own, but being a barista and working in a coffee shop, I really try to take the extra minute to encourage customers (and coworkers) to use ceramic mugs & plates instead of plastic! I really believe that the only way we're going to get rid of all of this garbage is by eliminating the garbage!
I didn't use plastic knifes and forks at work for a whole month. I remembered to bring silverware with me.
i got rid of my car.
I've been eyeing these bags for a few weeks!
I'm claiming responsibility for a paper recycling box at work. We use TONS of paper and have been just sending it off in the trash!
I'm reducing, reusing, and recycling all i can.
These are adorable! Being able to keep them in my purse is a must for me!
A few weeks ago a co-worker called me the "green nazi". While I know I can definitely do more to be kinder to the environment, it finally felt like I was making a small difference.
Oh these are great! I use reusable water bottles and reuse grocery bags as trash bags.
i love these bags! and the cuter they are, the more people notice you in the grocery store and ask, which is making a difference in itself! my first RRR (reduce, reuse, and recycle) tshirt made its appearance when i was 10...my latest thing is to reuse jars for new sauces, funky gift "boxes", pickling jars. i would love a flip and tumble bag!!
i've begun figuring out new uses for "trash" such as big yogurt containers to organize energy bars, re-using ziplocks, etc.
Gorgeous! I could really use these!
The biggest thing I do to help the environment is grow all my own vegetables. I know it's only becoming "popular" now, but I've been doing it since I was six years old and my mom taught me how to plant seeds properly. I love it!
I've blogged about their bags, I was not so sure about the round shape, but someone comment they're the best, so I am here and hopefully win it. ;D
When we first moved in to our apartment, we have only 1 big trash can, it's hard to recycle when we have limited space.
So, we installed 3 hooks inside our trash can. 1 hooks a paper bag for the paper waste, 1 hooks a plastic bag for paper waste. Then another plastic bag for organic waste, which also force us to empty trash everyday to stay clean.
I do my best to always have reusable bags with me, but I am always forgetting them! This would be perfect for my purse!
For my Mom's last birthday, we got her trees, because she really doesn't NEED anything material, so why not plant more trees and do something green?
I'm always forgetting my reusable bags! This would be a great something to stow in my car!
We keep three small (Bantam) laying hens in our very tiny backyard. They eat all of our eatable garbage, and in exchange, give us three delicious eggs a day.
Love the bags!
Patrice in Alameda California
These are so great!
If I don't forget the bags at home, I forget them in the car. Being able to stash it in the purse is great!
I've gotten really good at never using water bottles, recycling everything I can, and thinking about the packaging of a particular product before I buy. Oh, and I only use homemade cleaners, with is cheap and good for the earth!
I ADORE these!!
my make a difference moment: I bring my stainless steel water bottle with me everywhere in lieu of buying water bottles aaaand I turn all the lights off when I leave a room :)
no more plastic bottles or bags!!!
great giveaway...would definitely come in handy!
I use my reusable water bottle!
Reusable water bottle and recycling my magazines. These are the best bags!
love these!
i stopped buying bottled water. yay for tap!
I don't know if this counts as making a difference, but I found a great way to re-use those little patterned plastic trays that you get take-out sushi in... They make really great sorting trays for art and craft projects that involve small pieces and they're cute!
I love these. I have started making cloth baggies to hold toys, snacks, and such instead of ziplocks.
These are SO smart!!!
I recycle my bottles and cans and my plastic bags! I also started a veggie and herb garden :) they're still sproutlings though..
These bags are great!
I unplug absolutely everything in my house when I'm not using it. My phone charger, the television, computer power cords, lamps. I'm convinced it helps, my energy bill has gone down!
I've been using my one reusable bag everywhere I go, but have been wishing for an additional one so I can carry more. I've also been composting, recycling, and started a garden. Love the Flip and Tumble bags!
yes yes yes yes yes!!!!!!!!!! those are so perfect for my eco friendly collection of bags. 0o0o and the colors. i want one please and thank you. kehehe
For the past three years I have danced with a charity band that has raised over $70,000.00 for local charities (Humane Society and Children's Advocacy Groups) in the Augusta, GA. Area. I feel so privilaged to know that I have helped animals and children have better lives just by doing something fun that I love. : ) Love the bags too by the way, excellent giveaway!
I want these bags, they are great. I use a nalgene bottle for my water, which I take with me everywhere, use a canvas bag for my groceries and drive all my recycling to the city recycling cause they don't come to my apartment. Also I use old newspapers as gift wrap.
I love the idea of a cart full of colorful bags. I'm trying to make a difference by biking more (to work). thanks for the giveaway!
I've been obsessed with these bags for a while, so I'm glad to see them in a giveaway!
My favourite way to make a difference is to give handmade gifts - green, personal, and priceless :)
South Australia (where I live) banned supermarket shopping bags on May 4th this year. The re-usable bags available here have the nick-name 'Green Bags", not because they're environmenatally friendly (which they are) but because they're an icky green colour. How great that Flip & Tumble have re-usable bags available in such gorgeous bright colours- even the green is lovely!
right now my husband and i are eating raw and just joined our neighborhood co-op. we have a stock of reuseable bags but inevitably they don't get put back in the car when we need one. this flip and tumble would be wonderful to put to use!
very cool bags!!! one thing that stands out right now is that we use containers for carrying our lunch out, rather than plastic baggies that just get thrown right away. thanks!!!
Ohhh I want one!
We try to take public transportation where ever we can and we try to buy local.
Love these! So eco chic!
I've been using grocery bags for a while now (Baggu bags) and they've really been wonderful + durable. I have two and sometimes they aren't enough!
Everytime i'm at the packing end of the supermarket line, i'm freaked out by the no. of plastic bags going home with all these people. I'm only one person but i try!
my boyfriend does most of our shopping and i pledged to make him some cute (yet manly) totes to bring the groceries home in. however they've fallen on the IOU list among others. i like these b/c they fold up so compactly, it would be a much better option for our limited storage space (and they're gender neutral!). our latest addition to making a difference at home is a worm compost bin. love it!
I feel great when I hang my son's cloth diapers on a clothesline to be dried + bleached by the sun.
less paper towels, more cloth towels & cloth napkins! thanks!
I love, love, love these bags. So my style, especially how it's scrunched into a ball.
I have been taking the reduce aspect of the 3 Rs very seriously - if we use less, we throw out less. Bring less in to your house and there's less to manage going out. It's much harder than I imagined. We are an acquisitive society. Recycling is simply not enough. I gave everyone fancy reusable lunch and shopping bags for Christmas to help them be greener. But no one gave me one!
oh yes, i have been needing a li'l ball bag to carry around. my favorite trick is to pack dan's lunches in a reusable lunch bag instead of the throw away kind. much better and nice for those pb&j's.
I too love when I actually remember to bring in my reusable shopping bags. You are so right...it is a great feeling!
i would love one of these to keep in my purse!
I strated to paint lately and i am doing it with all kind of recycle materials that cross my mind, i create mixed media with carton, newspapers, magazines, napkings and many others.
I would to have these,,, I been using my recyclable bags when I do my grocery shopping or when I hit the mall....
That is a really clever idea. My make a difference moment is every moment I am faced with the decision on whether or not to purchase something that would take a lot of energy to recycle instead of reusing something I already have.
my husband and i started a biz that uses profits from recycling to help fund education for children in peru. i hope i win!
j.
how super-stylin :)
my make a difference mo was last xmas when i decided not to wrap everything in paper that would just be ripped and thrown out.. i invested in a few different sized white boxes that simply need a pretty ribbon tied around each of them. they looked beautiful under the tree and we will re-use them every birthday and xmas.
i love when our recycle trashcan (which is bigger than our regular trash can) fills up before our regular trash. and i love how i went months at at time last year (and this year too) remembering to bring my bags to the store. and i love how we now own a prius and use less gas....and my favorite is when my 3 year old looks at the bottom of something and recognizes the recycle sign and tells me that we can recycle that. and how both my kids ask if their trash goes in the recycle bin or the other one. LOVE IT!!!
Too Cute.
I think a good make a difference moment is to SMILE. Be Happy or fake it and smile at strangers. It makes a world of difference.
Hugs,
Kat
I love reuseable bags. Did you see the one I posted that is sjhaped like a strawberry when you fold it - very cute!
http://wallyspaper.blogspot.com/2009/04/strawberry-bag.html
Got my garden ready to plant today, that's the tastiest way to make a difference!
So many comments already!
I became a vegan two years ago for environmental issues. I ride my bike every where I go and I always hang dry all my laundry! Thanks so much!
just about everything i own has had a previous life - including my lovey - i like things that have been a little bit used. the bags sound wonderful - i tend to forget mine too and usually wrap gifts with the brown paper ones from trader joes.
To help out I've started shopping almost entirely at second hand stores. It's better for the environment and all the things I find are so unique and cute!
Everytime I turn off a light when it's not really needed, I do feel like I'm making a difference - a small one, but a difference nonetheless! :o)
I use reusable bags, and buy everything second-hand (apart from food, obviously!). If I can't get something used, I make sure it has as little packaging as possible.
Those bags are lovely!
these are totally cute :). i always mean to get a reuseble grocery bag then it kind of gets bumped to the end of the list. but we definitely make it a point to reuse plastic bags, turn off lights/AC when we don't need them on, and recycle containers. oh and we've replaced our lightbulbs with the energy efficient ones. we could probably stand to be greener, but every little bit helps!
wow, these are great and cute too! would so love one of these! -kb
cute bags!
my make-a-difference moment:
- i print on paper 2 times
- i bring my own bags when i shop
...by the moment that's all!!
I wish I'll go around the city by bike...
U-haaaa I like that giveaway!
What a great idea! I've never seen these before...
Our make-a-difference came with better meal planning! If heating up the oven, grill, etc., cook for more than one meal, thereby reducing the amount of fuel that we use.
Also, now we eat better because we are thinking about what we are going to have and use all of our fresh produce instead of having to pitch it when it spoils because we haven't planned for what we'll have it for.
These are SO SO SO cute! I recently bought 4 reusable shopping bags for bridesmaid gifts, these bags would be adorable for OOTers!
I just got one for my mom for Mother's Day and almost kept it for myself!
Hooray!
wow! these bags are great! my make a difference moment? i sold my car 3 years ago and have been biking ever since, snow, ice, rain and hot summer sun, I can't get enough!
So cute and practical! I am trying very hard to not use plastic water bottles- bought myself several Earthlust bottles so I can reuse them. Slowly putting the energy efficient bulbs in our home too.
Great giveaway!
Hi! I love these bags, I got one of them a year ago, and I could definitely use a few more...
My favourite make a difference moment was the day I decided that, when searching for a new job, it had to be one I could bike, or skate, or walk to. Personally it has been an amazing decision, one I celebrate each day. Globally, is one less car polluting and consuming... x)
I almost never get shopping bags when I buy something, and make do with either my purse or a bag that I've brought along. We compost and recycle at home, and I refuse to buy plastic water bottles and use an aluminum one instead. My boss rolls her eyes at me at the amount of paper we go through at work, but at least she's started saving it for reuse on the backside or for scrap.
Those bags are so cute!
I have completely removed plastic bags from my house, but none of my reusable bags are as cute as these ones!
Christine
These bags are awesome! My favorite ways to make a difference are little things: carrying my own water bottle, walking to the office, reusing items and shopping at the farmers market.
trying to give back by planting my own garden and only shopping locally, well atleast trying.
Those bags are great!
My make-a-difference moment: I switched to packing my breakfast and lunch in only reusable containers to take to work. I often ended up using lots of little ziplock bags before. Now, I can just wash everything out, saving lots of plastic from going into the trash.
These are great! I had never heard of them before, but I love the fact that they roll up into a ball - something I could keep in my purse and not forget like I do my other reusable bags!
My favorite green moment was when I returned to my hometown in the middle of nowhere USA and found that my mother had started to recycle. It was sweet. Love these bags. Thanks!
Make a difference moment would have to be kindness - it makes SUCH a difference to bring a smile and happiness to someone's day, rather then burden them further then they already are!
Wow - what a great way to go green! I always, always recycle and force everyone else around me to as well.
The reusable bags would be perfect for me to win!
Recycling gets quicker the more you do it - it's like the making your bed habit.
For Mum's Day - I ordered everyone re-usable monogrammed totes from Swoozies. They are adorable at at $10 with monogramming a steal!
No reason not to be going green in a cute fashion!
these bags are awesome. i hope i win one! we try to keep our footprint as small as possible by recycling, not driving cars (we live in the city, so we walk, bike, or use public transport), using "green" lightbulbs, and buying a lot of our clothes, furniture, and household items from thrift stores instead of buying new ones, which is also cheaper!
I want one :) PLEASE! I have just recently started a recycling center in our home!! i know about time huh? we have also started to buy all natural or organic food and products. I know it isn't much but to me I feel like it is helping a little at a time and if everyone helps a little at a time...well you know!
My favorite way to make a small difference is shopping at the local farmer's market.
These are fabulous! They make great gifts too.
My make-a-difference moment is that we recycle everything possible and also that we use green cleaning products. There truly are some great ones!
They are adorable- love that they roll up into a ball... PERFECT to throw in my bag.
Cool bags! I'd say that my make a difference moment came when I started carrying around a thermos for my morning coffee. Whether I'm making it myself or stopping by a coffee shop, I love it because it keeps my iced coffee cold and my hot coffee hot, it's the perfect size to fit in my bag, and I don't have to waste paper.
I have a terrible habit of getting into the grocery store and realizing my reusable bags are in the trunk of the car. Of course I'm too lazy to go get them from the car. It would be fabulous to have a few of these bags stashed in my purse for shopping ease :)
Now that we have a house, for the first time I can recycle!! I just went out and bought a big blue recycle bin. Let the recycling begin! I can make a difference each day! Love the bags! Any color will do! (I have the same problem of leaving them in my car and cringe when I hear "paper or plastic?")
My favourite make a difference moment is fitting for this past weekends mothers day!
My family has always been very conscious of the environment and the ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint within our home as a family. My mom works for the City of Toronto and two years ago, there was an outpouring of nominations to have my mom win the city workers environmental award for all of her efforts in doing her part to help the environment. She didn't even know that she had been nominated, or that there was even an award for this! She was just always telling people about putting up a clothes line in your house and outside to save energy and not use the clothes dryer, to recycle whenever possible, to keep a compost, to walk instead of drive when possible, etc. My mom ended up winning the award, and although there wasnt a great big prize or anything, just a simple certificate, she was so excited that she had gotten through to her co-workers and that she had inspired them to make some positive changes in their homes to benefit our earth!
yes yes! I would love one of these!
i would love love love one of these and put it to good use! we get 5c per reusable bag that we use off our total when we shop at native sun natural foods market (jacksonville, fl).
i carry my own water bottle everywhere i go to avoid plastic, and i have my (definitely not as pretty) reusable bags in the car at all times!
I bike to work everyday I can! And my husband and I use reusable water bottles.
OOHHH LALALALA!! I love these bright colors. For my make-a-difference moment: We started recycling and our very own vegetable/herb garden.I am also getting ready to try the "no poo", using baking soda and apple cidar vinegar instead of regular shampoo and conditioner to help lessen the amount of plastic we consume:):)
I'm flippin for those colorful bags. Added a second compost bin and also got a rain barrel ---feels so good.
I started choosing to walk everywhere and only using my car on the weekends. and I'm kind of obsessed with recycling.
LOVING those bags! My light bulb moment was when I realized just how many plastic water bottles I was going through. Recycled or not, it was a lot of waste. A reusable water bottle is such a "greener" way to go!
I recently moved and now have curbside recycling and green waste pick up. I love it!
Love these bags!
i bring my own cup to work! I no longer use the paper cups that are by the water cooler!
I love the COLORS of these! What a good way to call attention to using reusable bags and remind others to do the same! Sometimes, that's all it takes - I was picking up trash in my neighborhood for Clean and Green day in Chicago, and a number of neighbors, upon seeing my trash-picking, started picking up the trash near and around their houses! Visibility is KEY, in the next step to not only be green, but to encourage others to do so as well. Now, if only we could make biodegradable cigarette butts, or if those smokers out there would stop putting them out in flower beds and lawns!
oh i really could use one of these! they're really cute too!
i've started trying to hang dry my clothes as much as possible in order to save electricity from using the dryer.
These are so cute!
I think my make a difference moment happens on a regular basis. I work in a study abroad office at a big university. Often, students who don't really think that study abroad is for them for one reason or another, come in, talk to me, then realize that they can go. They are so happy when they leave. I believe that by making more global citizens, we can change the world in terms of environmentalism. After you see the world, you are much less apt to not care about it.
Add my name to the mix, please. I love recycling and sort my on Mondays before pick up. Today in my city there is a big shredding party, both for identity theft safety and for recycling. Anyone can come add things to the giant shredder throughout the day. I can't wait to go after work and add my bags. This kind of thing is new to me. Has anyone heard of this done anywhere else?
Thanks for the give away - and for encouraging us all to go a little greener!
m jane
These are brilliant AND darling!
Oooh, I've been drooling over these!! We turn the heat down in the winter and bundle up with extra layers...believe me, this was hardest not for my kids, but for me, who hates to wear socks ANY time of the year...
I make cards with recycled paper and envelopes :D
Oh, I would love these...I am terrible at being green, but this is one way I think I can contribute!!
I really want to try a flip and tumble, I love the ball design!
Last year I watched a plastic bag float down from the sky and land in a tree in front of my apartment. It made me so sad to look out at that tree everyday and see the bag stuck there.
So, I decided to give up plastic bags. I've kept two reusable bags in my purse with me at all times and have gotten very used to saying "oh, thanks, I don't need a bag." It's just so simple but it has made a huge difference. I'd love to see the plastic bag tax go into effect in new york city!
HI.
I am new to your blog.
My make a difference moment is that I told my kids the only way to earn allowance money is to recycle plastic and take it to a recycle center every Saturday for your allowance money. They got so excited, they called grandparents and friends to donate. My son earned $30 his first week and went to best buy straight from the center for a new video game. Success for our family as a start to go green! I'm sure there is going to be may more make a difference moments in our future now that we have started!
PICK ME: I want recycle bags! They are so cute!
My dad is an environmental engineer and the last time he came over, he commented that we really shouldn't be drinking bottled water, and not just because of the environmental concern, but also because in third world countries where the water is unhealthy they are having riots over bottled water because the rich can afford bottled water so they are not fixing the water systems and the poor have no choice but to drink dirty water. If people stopped buying bottled water then the water treatment systems would have to be fixed.
Now we are trying harder not to support bottled water companies.
love em! my favorite make a difference moment was rallying against plastic water bottles for a college graphic design class!
I try to do small things to make a difference in my own little way... I use reusable bags; if I do end up with a plastic bag, I save it and find another use for it; I try not to leave the water running when I brush my teeth. Little things. But little things can add up, I hope.
how cute are these!
My make a difference moment started with a refillable water bottle... since then I started recycling everything in our house. I often forget my reusable bags in the car when grocery shopping- I can't stand using a plastic bag so I ask someone to watch my stuff while I run out to the car to retrieve them!
these are my current favorite reusable foldable bags because of how nicely they work across the body.
I am an art teacher... everyday a difference is made when I how my students how they are all unique and gifted artists.
Buying only local organic produce and dairy.
I love that they are so small that I could shove it in my purse. Then I wouldn't forget it like I do the other bags. I think my biggest going green try is investing in a water bottle so I can refill instead of buying new bottles all the time.
to make a difference i help the little kids at my school with down syndrome and sit with them at lunch because no one else does! i love them (:
smile and say a sincere hello to strangers.
I really need some of these bags! They're perfect! I feel good about reusable bags, but I always forget my canvas ones, and the foldable one I keep in my purse is a hassle to get back in its little pouch!
I do feel good about finally breaking my bottled water habit. I haven't bought/used one in a month!
These are so cute! How inventive. We have replaced old lightbulbs with the newer energy effecient bulbs. We have recycled for years. We are planting a garden.
so cute! I love a good reusable bag!
i was just telling myself to go buy some reusable bags - preferably the type that roll up real tight. so really, this would be perfect for me...
So brilliant!
I am trying my very best to buy things in bulk at the co-op to reduce plastic waste...glass containers are heavy..but worth it! and they look so stylin'!
I have a few envirosax and other reusable bags, but it's amazing how they never seem to be enough! I keep finding new uses for them - love these in their storage/ball form too :)
love these cute reusable bags! my husband and I really try to go "green": we separate/recycle our trash, use a compost for food-waste, clean using natural products, use CFL bulbs, we also take aluminum water bottles to work, and shop with reusable bags...up next, trying to grow a mini-garden! :-)
Pretty colors! Love these.
we recycle almost more than we throw away. i love that. :)
Adore these bags. We're getting married in September and thinking of giving away reusable bags as part of the gifts to guests!
so chic!
i use those big reusable whole foods bags, but when i make an impromptu stop at the grocery store i sometimes don't have them and have to squeeze everything into my purse. these would be great to have - i'd never be without them!
Hi, I love these bags!
all my grocery bags are reusable
I love reusable bags and these colors are divine! I grow my own herbs and try to shop at the farmers market whenever I can.
These bags are great! We make donations to our local thrift store monthly. Better than throwing things out, and provides job opportunities within the community.
i've been wanting to be more green and woke up the other morning to a smashed car (from a hit and run)...so i now am biking all over seattle (you should see our hills) and supporting our (kind of pathetic) bus system...and walking to the market..these, would be great to keep in my pack...very useful...
I'm really falling for the green one! my "yes" moment is when i constantly remind my boyfriend to take out the recyclebles to the recycling area need our apartment. we save the world and get a quick workout in the process. now i dont even have to remind him to recycle stuff, he does it by himseld. sweet!
I had my ah ha! moment when I realized how much money I could save (and how much better it would be for the environment) if I stopped buying plastic water bottles, so I bought a klean kanteen and I absolutely love it!
Such great little bags! I'm with you that I keep leaving them in the car. We stopped using plastic water bottles about 2 years ago.
i love these!
Wahoo! Fun times! I would make a difference if I won these bags... just sayin'!
Very nice sacks. My favorite make a difference moment is any time kids make a difference. Always so moving.
Love these!! I can see using them for anything from grocery shopping to writing a paper for grad school and having to lug around additional books!
My make a difference moment(s) is unplugging electric items when not in use! Save that energy :)
Oh these are wonderful! Much better than what I am using- any old bag lying around the house! My make a difference moment- I just started reusing tinfoil. My mom learned from her mom (depression era) to do this, and it really bugged me when I was growing up. But gosh, if it is clean or can be cleaned, why not?
How fun! I love the byob movement in nyc - would love to be able to use these.
Love these - My favorite "green" moments are when I pack my son's lunch in a bento box with a bamboo spork, stainless water bottle and cloth napkin each morning. I enjoy raising my children in a way that teaches them to waste less and take care of themselves and their futures.
Is this sad? My favorite "make a difference" moment was on a day my cousin commented offhand about how paper towels are one of the largest wastes of trees in the nation. She asked "do you know how many less trees would be needed if we all took one less paper towel to dry our hands in the bathroom?"
A small point for a large concept. I haven't stopped using the paper towels offered in the bathroom, but I use one now instead of two.
my husband and i recently started a compost!
YES I WANT ONE OF THESE!!!
These colurs are GORGEOUS! I want them ALL. Ehr... :)
I look for old fabrics in thrift stores so I can sew my own bags, I mean, anything will do; curtains, towels, sheets, they just have to express the person carrying it.
Recently my best "moment" is my move. In this city (Göteborg, Sweden) it's possible for everyone to recycle even the organic material. It's the bomb! I didn't have access to a compost at my latest place, and well, I was pretty good at recycling all other waste, but I really wanted to do better! Now I can!
I just have to get the same ide into the head of my landlady. ;)
I have the impression to make a difference since I quit Montreal, the big city, to come back to the region, in a small beautiful town of 15 000 inhabitants by the sea.
I am opening an artisanal bakery cafe in few weeks, here, with my baker boyfriend. It has a better impact here, where there is no shop like that, than in a big city where you can find one at each corner. It revitalize the town principal street and makes people happy to have a beautiful and pleasant (i hope!) place to go. We also have many «green» initiatives. And we are so glad about that life project.
My moment: Starting an organic balcony garden for our apartment to supplement our food needs. We have grown all kinds of things out there and the taste is incredible! Can't get any fresher than steps from your front door!
I would love love love one of these. I've had my eye on them for a while and would love a free one to try out before making a big purchase!
i love those bright colors - much color than the ones i use now! (one of them is from a waste management company that i got for free at a home show. ugh!)
helping to design an orphanage in uganda is probably my favorite "make a difference" moment. those kids are so precious and amazing. they probably made more of a difference to me than i did for them! :)
these bags are great. i used to do the same thing- leave my totes at home- because im always running errands by foot from my office. so now i keep a bag at work too (kind of a no brainer but it took me a while to figure out most of my plastic bags were coming from work!) i'd keep at least one of these beauties at the office!
I use bags like these all the time. I stow them away in lots of places so I'm never without one! I've almost eliminated all disposable bags completely now.
ahh they're so cute!
When I moved to this part of NC, rarely anyone recycled. Not even our school which I saw wasted so much paper on a class to class basis. So I started recycling right away, suggesting teachers to implement a recycling program. And eventually...they did! Weather it was my influence, or someone else's; I'm proud to have...possibly made a difference. But I still recycle newspapers, bottles and cans all the time.
a haiku
you colorful bags!
so utilitarian,
you look great on me.

I only use reusable bags now! They just save up space and reduce the amount of crap I have!
Oh man! I always forget my reusable grocery bags... even though they are hard to miss because they are huge and hanging right by the door! These would be great because you could just keep it in your purse or use it as a purse!(I could hide one of these from my husband a lot longer than I could hide a new purse!)
I love all the bright colors they are so fun!!!
My husband and I built our own chicken coop out of 80% reused & salvaged materials... and the best part is we can recycle the chicken manure too!
I'd love a flip & tumble bag!!!
I love the design of these. What I also love is so many of the not being wasteful & money saving habits my mom & grandmother drilled into me as a kid which I at the time thought of as cheapo lame have actually turned out to be 'green' all along. My new trick though is to save all my coffee grounds & egg shells to scatter on my veg & herb garden as a plant food & snail repellent in one.
We replaced all of our light bulbs with energy savings light bulbs, and unplug everything we are not using. we noticed the $avings on our energy bill immediately! It is quite amazing! Flip & Tumble bags are the best b/c you can just throw them in your purse! :)

These are so pretty. Easy way to make a difference is to vote.
I would love to have some flip and tumbles on hand... I have a few grocery versions but these would be nice to take shopping for clothes as well. (Does anyone else feel silly toting along a grocery logo while browsing Anthro? I know that's not the point...) One of my "make a difference" moments would be my weekly trip to the farmer's market. Not only am I helping our community, I'm promoting local and sustainable agriculture by seeking out yummy organic food. It's my favorite part of the week.
I love these for the grocery store or library. I don't know - small things make a difference and often just by example. My oldest son has started mountain biking and in turn become very involved in trail clean ups, rebuilding trails and just promoting keeping our gorgeous mountains clean. My younger sons have jumped on his bandwagon and whenever they're out, they stop to pick up as well.
Thanks for sharing!
My make a difference moment favorite of late is when I saw my students at the science fair (one project was about going green!)for the first time ever and they were proud of themselves! They were articulate and knowledgeable and I was so proud of the hard work they had done that no one before had believed them capable of.
I love these bags. Living in a developing country trash is a lot less contained, and it is easy to see the need to cut down on our trash. I try to reuse where I can, changing an ugly canvas tote bag from a conference into a owl shaped pillow for my son. Or recovering a Goodwill crib bumper with fabric that I loved...
My favorite green moment is when I found in the street something that I can re-use. Since I live in NYC it happend very often! I also re-use each day the same catering plastic round box to bring my homemade lunch to the office :)
