Siggi's Yogurt

Siggi's Yogurt

In my area we don't get the variety of yogurts as you would say in eh -- France or New York City, so yesterday as I went to a local health foods store and I came upon this lovely packaged Siggi's yogurt I was curious. It also mentioned Iceland on the label ... yes, please. Not only did the minimal and paper-like packaging sell me but the part about it being sans aspartame, sucralose, artificial coloring, preservatives and high fructose corn syrup put me over the edge to make the purchase.

I have found it very tricky to find yogurt that doesn't have a lot of these additives, have you noticed most yogurts in the U.S. are loaded with added sugars, and hfcs?

The vanilla I tried this morning is perhaps the creamiest and thickiest yogurt I've ever tasted, and I can also see vanilla bean specks in it, which is always good sign.

What is your yogurt of choice? I would love to try another.

ps. I also tried a sample of plain sheep's yogurt with added honey the other day, it quite good.

Oooh this looks delicious! I'm always on the hunt for yummy, organic, natural (and fat free!) yogurt. I can never get enough Greek yogurt! I think I'll have to look for this brand . . .

Oh, it looks so yummy! I'm a big fan of the Fage Greek yogurt (the ones with the cherry and peach side flavorings are actually really good and I'm really picky about that kind of stuff). I'll have to keep my eye out for these though.

I cannot believe that you blogged on Siggi’s! I must be their biggest fan anywhere ever. I've even written the company to thank them for a product so delicious. Just wish it cost a tad less -- $2.50 each is steep. But it's the yummiest!

My favorite is homemade! Can't beat the price (and it really is quite easy):

I've tried Siggi's too. It's good, very thick. Also a big fan of Fage. The nonfat is still so thick and creamy.

Sounds delish. I second the recommendation of Fage Greek yogurt. I like the kind with honey. Perfect for breakfast or a simple snack.

Oops... forgot to say my favorite. It's peach-ginger. Chunks of peaches and dried ginger. We don't have vanilla at my Fresh Market...

Mmm, I love siggi's blueberry. SO delicious and tart! I love it. I've tried every yogurt on the market (well, yes, that is surely a small exaggeration but I DO eat a lot of it!) and this is my fave.

Brown Cow is the best yogurt brand! It's not too expensive and can be found at Sunflower Market. It is soo creamy and tasty (esp. if you get the full fat kind). Try the MAPLE flavor and you will be in heaven.

So true! I love the Dannon Naturals in coffee, but it's hard to find around here. Have you tried the Liberte brand? It's also excellent.

Coffee flavored yogurt? Hmm.
I am actually enjoying some Vanilla Bean Wallaby Organic Yogurt with almonds.
It isn't too bad.

Definitely Stonyfield Farms Organic Cream Top Vanilla. It's so rich tasting that I've used it as a desert with berries added to it. But it's really heavenly for breakfast with a cup of coffee too! I get mine at Whole Foods. I also like the Fage Greek Yogurt too.

I buy natural plain yogurt (or make it in my yogurt maker) and then add a teaspoon or so of home made jam to cut the tartness. It's delish and my children devour it!

If you run across Liberte yogurt do yourself a favor and try it. I believe it's Canadian and it's so, so good. My favorite flavors are coconut and walnut fig.

mm, i love oikos greek yogurt with honey!

This sounds absolutely delicious! You have me drooling for some tasty yogurt. Sadly in Malaysia our options are even more limited than the additive-loaded ones found in the US. They even add sugar to their milk here, it's insane!

there is a yogurt here in San Francisco I love, it is french actually. Saint Benoit.

Also I love Trader Joe's plain yogurt.

I want to try Siggi's!

I like Chobani greek yogurt--available at Costco!

I'll second the comment on Brown Cow maple! It's sweetened with only maple syrup and doesn't have added thickeners. Lately, I've strained it in cheesecloth for an hour or so, then put it in my little ice cream freezer. It's the most dreamy sweet/tart dessert with some sliced strawberries and walnuts. Oh my!

I really like Stoneybrook Farms Organic Greek Yogurt - it's naturally non-fat, has less sugar than others and more protien. Plus it tastes great and Stoneybrook farms is a great company that supports the slow food movement. You can find it at Whole Foods and other natural food stores...
