San Francisco

Unknown to us I think we are in San Francisco at the perfect time. It was fun to see all of the kids scurry around in the streets in their Halloween costumes (some crazy adults too), it has been amazing to see the happy energy and noise eruption from the Giant's winning the world series, the weather has been absolute perfection, and I've never been a city where people have been this nice and friendly. With the later, I have a hunch it is because I have a sweet little baby strapped to me everywhere I go.

I'm out to enjoy this gorgeous day -- I hope you are having a great week in your area of the world. Any last minute must-sees and dos?

The photo is from our hotel room as the sun was setting the other night.

welcome to our city by the bay. People ARE this friendly and nice- but yes, a baby surely helps. I moved out here from NYC and am still captivated by this city's magical... daily. xo

Get a morning bun from Tartine!

Go to Flora Grubb for amazing plants and space, and to Sightglass for a cup of delicious coffee.

hi rachael! welcome to our fair city.

i agree with Yvonne and Karyn, grab an ice cream over at Bi-Rite or some sweets at Tartine Bakery and bring it to Dolores Park, where you can sit on a hill and watch the city sprawled before you. Today is such a perfect day. Enjoy! :)

hey rachel! welcome to our charming city by the way! i am convinced you brought the indian summer back to our city ;) if you have time, i would sneak over to mission beach cafe for an early dinner - the burger, truffle fries, lyn zin wine and a slice of the banana butterscotch pie are my version of heaven on earth. hope you get a chance to experience it too!

Having a baby with you may have helped, but I'll tell you that everyone I met in SF on my three (so far) visits was super friendly. It's a great city!

Oh Yvonne -- that sounds amazing, ice cream is my weakness. I did try bi-rite, yum, but I will have to try your other suggestions thanks!

Karyn, those mornings buns looked so good -- I had too many other things on my plate to try them :)
