The Burning House

I was perusing the beautiful photos from That's Just it Photo and I came across a really cool project and website called The Burning House where they share what you would take with you if your house was burning. It is a fascinating collection that you'll have to pop over and see more of if you are interested. I adore projects like this and can't wait to follow it and see more...

What would you take with you? I've got to think about this for a bit.

This is such a cool project, it is so interesting seeing how different each collection is, and you can probably tell a lot about each person from these objects!
I'm going to think about this now too, there are a few pieces of jewellery and art work that I'd be devastated to lose!

What a cool photo and concept! I'd have to think on it too but I don't know if I'd take anything but my family, including the beloved pup!

What a great concept. I've heard the question before, but love the curated images - it's so much more powerful.

Just tried this a week ago; answer: first pants and shirt near the bed, keys and phone. Shoes without socks.
Didn't really have time to think about Le Creuset pots.

and other than my cat, i have no clue what i would grab - i'll have to think as well!

This is brilliant and I will definitely start following it. It really does make you think- I have no idea what I'd grab first...

Awesome project idea - apart from children and pets (of course), I have no idea what I would grab on the run - probably my laptop!

What an awesome idea! This gets me thinking. Besides taking my family with me, maybe I will take my wallet and some family photos.

Have a wonderful day!

This is such a great idea! And I love how the pictures are laid out too - so neat and really makes you think. Especially here in Southern California where I live, we have fire season every September - it's definitely something I should think about!

I don't understand why people would save mass-produced stuff. People can buy (expensive, French) pots again. Why not focus on the things that could not be replaced? I guess because sentimental value does not translate well to others in pictures.

Oh as soon as I leave this comment I am clicking right over to the Burning House to look around more. I love the photographs and the unique collections. I may create my own collection from this inspiration and post it on my blog!

Very cool project. Seems like the le creuset pan might not be on my list (if not for the weight alone) but it is interesting to see how much these tell about a person

Perhaps the pots and pans belonged to Mom?
It's quite thought provoking. As a kid, I used to pack a bag during tornado warnings. Always prepared to grab and run for the basement. Setting up a shot like this might help one determine just what is important in their life. And what isn't. Excellent post!
