Guest Blogger: Kate Endle

I am very excited to introduce the lovely Kate Endle as a guest blogger this week. I first saw Kate's magical collages in the downtown Seattle Anthropologie, this last summer and I was drawn into them, curious to learn more. Her work is full of life, and each piece has an intriguing childlike complexity. This week should be a great treat!

Kate Endle was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Illustration degree from The Columbus College of Art and Design. She has been illustrating professionally for over fifteen years, specializing in children's materials. Her work can be found on greeting cards, bus shelters, children's books, and magazines. Clients include: Adventure Media, Cartwheel Books, The Domain Group, Harcourt Brace, I Knew That!, Innovative Kids, Klutz Publishing, Macy's, McGraw-Hill, National Wildlife Federation, Noodle Soup, Outside the Box, Papyrus, Scholastic, Sesame Street Workshop, Walter Foster, Washington Mutual, Zaner-Bloser.

In 2000, after years of collecting decorative paper, she realized it was time to put her paper to use. With scissors and glue she has created a new venue for her love of design and color. As a result, she is currently pursuing a second body of original and recognizable art. Her collage work can be found in various galleries and boutiques on the West Coast. Exciting projects for 2008 include the release of children's book Trout are Made of Trees, Kids Can Press, Spring 2008 and a series of note cards through Papyrus.

Assembling large groups of framed art is such a challenge. I posted about my silhouette collection a while back.

I love the look, but I know that the grouping just doesn't look right. I wish I had a local Kate-like friend! Her grouping is lovely and I see why you were drawn to her work. I can't wait to see her posts.

Looking very much forward to seeing Kate's posts. Sweet illustration and collage pieces. Must get off of my island and try to see some of her work in person as she lives near me and it's always nice to see the "live" show.

Welcome Kate!
