Sondre Lerche

While tiding up my office today, me and V have been listening to Norwegian sensation Sondre Lerche. I have a few of his albums, yet we're currently listening to the Dan in Real Life Soundtrack. I'm not usually a big fan of one band soundtracks but this one doesn't disappoint. Well... I guess 'Badly Drawn Boy' also did a good job with About a Boy. What one-band soundtracks do you dig? What fab. ones am I missing?

Update: Oh... the voice of Lillian Samdal on the 'Modern Nature' track is genius. Anyone know if she sings anything else?

You just nailed on the head two of my favorites. I LOVE the About a Boy soundtrack, and I LOVE the Dan in Real Life soundtrack.

This isn't a soundtrack, but I am addicted to the new album released (last week I think) by Zoe Deschanel (the actress) under the name She&Him. Every track is fantastic -- you should check it out!

Oh gosh...
1) i LOVE Sondre Lerche...have all of his stuff & actually got to meet him in St. Louis.
2) just bought the Dan in Real Life soundtrack, & yes i agree...lovely.
3) the soundtrack for Curious George featured all Jack Johnson songs...yes, it's geared toward children, but i love it!
4) i want to say the soundtrack from Over the Hedge was all Ben Folds...oddly enough, i've never listened to it, but i bet it's good!

Not entirely one band, but the "CQ" soundtrack features mostly songs from Mellow. The other tracks are 60s French pop songs, so all worth listening to in my opinion. One of my favorite soundtracks!

Oh my gosh, the entire Into the Wild soundtrack is amazing. I am shocked it wasn't nominated for awards.

You must listen to the "Once" soundtrack. And if you haven't seen the movie - you guessed it - it's a must-see! Absolutely brilliant. It's hard not to love it.

Wow, what was I thinking... Once soundtrack is a must. I've been listening to it on repeat the last few weeks. Thanks jac.

I just tried to find Sondre Lerche at Borders after a recommendation from a fellow blogger but they didn't have it. Poo. I agree with Ashley, the Into the Wild soundtrack is brilliant. And I'm not really a big Pearl Jam fan.

Best one person soundtrack: Dianne Reeves for "Good Night and Good Luck". If you like jazz you will love this disc! The beauty of her voice was only matched by the beauty of her in the movie.

I'm addicted to this soundtrack. AS soon as I finished the movie and purchased the whole thing on iTunes! Sondre Lerche is pure genius and you're right about the lady's voice on "Modern Nature". That song makes me want to dance barefoot in the kitchen with my significant other! :)

I too dig "About a Boy" soundtrack..

I saw Lillian Samdal in consert here in Norway last year as the singer of a band called "The pass" - they were great. I don't know if she is still with them or if they have ever released a record.

I've never heard of Sondre Lerche, but upon your recommendation I went and listened to some of his stuff and I love it! Thanks for the heads up.

I'd have to say one of my favorite soundtracks is that to the movie Amelie. Yann Tiersen is brilliant.

Sondre is one of my FAVORITES! I'm glad to see this article, I still haven't found any one who likes him as much as I do :)

Oh I officially love this blog! Sondre is one of my faves! Got to see him in San Francisco and he didn't disappoint. I'd add to this the "Next Stop Wonderland" soundtrack--full of bossa nova classics. And I'm also drawn to "The Royal Tanenbaums" soundtrack too.

I agree with one of the previous comments on the 'once' soundtrack and movie!!

the movie is sensational.. about how two musicians meet on the streets and create music together. The lead male is also the lead singer of 'the frames' :)
beautiful, mellow movie
