Muji NYC

"It's about designing your own life – not someone else's. It's a belief that simple is better than complicated. And it's the knowledge that real simplicity is always the result of openness and honesty."

The above statements define what MUJI is all about. Ever since I walked in to one of their stores in London a few years back I have been craving to step foot in their Japanese minimalist inspired store again. In November '07 Muji launched their first full U.S. retail store in the New York City Soho neighborhood and in May '08, the second 'Times Square' location became their new U.S. flagship. Since I haven't got their quite yet, my doll of a sister-in-law took some shots for me. Thanks Melissa.

I went to the Times Square one (it's a block from my work) and I wanted to buy everything in there. Very soothing and nice in there.

I love Muji, I first experienced their greatness on the Kensington High Street, London. Now that they have stores in NY it gives me hope that they may actually open one in SF. The great thing is that the prices are so decent for such wonderfully basic and appealingly designed items.

you should check out NYC store, KIOSK. It's a store that started in response to "over design."

They travel around the world and the products in the store are from wherever they traveled most recently. It's very cool.

I love muji, except that I would probably find it difficult to maintain that 'clean' look.

I dig this philosophy. I was introduced to your blog over at My Marrakesh. I'll make it my business to stop by this store. It looks and sounds wonderful.
