Gardening
Is anyone else itching to get out in the garden? Maybe it is the recently requested seed catalogs that are flooding my mailbox, or the listening of this book ... but this year we are going grand, my husband (who kind of dreads the thought of rehearsing his childhood weeding days) is going to help me set a plot and build a garden box. I am searching for images I once saw of beautiful white painted garden boxes but in the meantime, I can't help but love this window box garden that Little Brown Pen posted from her adventures in Paris, maybe I can do something like this with herbs on my deck too? How many of you like to grown things and play in the dirt?

My favorite is the Lavender flowers... Lavender fiels of France. Also I very like sunflowers..
P.S. I like to grown things and play in the dirt so much ;]
I love to grow things and am really looking forward to growing tomatoes, basil and a few other things! :) Good luck with your garden!
I'm always saying some day I'll grow aromatic herbs to use in my cooking. I love the idea!
Have a wonderful weekend!
xx
I've got my seeds starting and can't wait to get them in the ground!
I have big imaginings this year, too! I'm wanting to get the beginnings of an herb garden in the ground...memories of childhood weeding also to the fore, so I'm not going big for my first return to the dirt! Hope my 14 month old gets some good practical time in the dirt.
Especially happy to have your blog to look over today, after up all night with a sick baby.
i've been growing herbs especially for salsas and omelets! :)
I'm dying to get out in the garden. It's that time again, I've got to get it started indoors pronto!
Me, me, me! I love to garden and always look forward to getting back out in the dirt come Spring time. I've wanted to make a garden box for ages and love the idea of snipping herbs right out of my garden. You'll have to show us the final product upon completion.
I really love those images but I cannot keep a house plant alive much less find the time to garden. My mother has always had such a knack for it, my friends referred to my house as the Jungle Kingdom growing up. Not me, sorry mom. Maybe if I had more of a yard it would inspire me, but hats off to those who can do it.
Thanks for the inspiration.
We are building raised vegetable beds this year.We keep honeybees too. They love Lavender and Rosemary. Plant some by your vegetables to attract honeybees to pollinate your veggies. It will make a big difference and help the honeybee population.
Honeybees are not out to sting you, they die when they sting, they are just busy girls trying to do their job :)
Thanks for sharing those inspiring images. I definitely have gardening fever.
this is lovely! we have been thinking of building boxes in our backyard however we do not get much sun with our huge avocado tree...
but we do grow tomatos, eggplant , basil and squash at my grandparents house... we want to add onto this list. :)
yes! i'm dying to get out in the garden. i live in Maine so it's out of the question but i bought morning glory and bean pod seeds yesterday, just to grow anything! if anyone lives in New England: get some morning glory seeds. they are soooo much fun to watch growing, and they're beautiful.
Thus far, I onlt imagine how much I'd like to enjoy growing things in the dirt. But I imagine I'd like to, very much.
I've been itching to get back in the garden for what seems like forever. I've cleaned up the garden and hope to actually start moving some perennials around this weekend. My husband thinks I'm nuts....certain obsessed. Happy gardening!
