The Paper Nut - by Guest: Jeanie Nelson
The Paper Nut is my addition to the growing world of letterpress stationery and custom announcements. I launched a line of 4 notecards last fall, enjoying success though my Etsy shop. A few shops have carried the cards: Willow & Bloom and Twig in Seattle, and Ink & Peat in Portland. A couple weeks ago, The Paper Nut was featured in The Daily Candy, and the cards are scheduled to be highlighted in the May issue of Country Living magazine. Just last week we launched the custom wedding section of The Paper Nut website. This premier lineup should be followed by constant additions. I think letterpress and wedding invitations are a match made in heaven, and I love the quality of work achieved by the printer I work with: Tryst Press, in Provo, Utah. While this nasty recession has everyone thinking twice about the extra cost of letterpress, I'm optimistic the difficult market will make designers work harder to produce work worthy of people's interest.
