Crucial Conversations

While attending Education week I am going to a lecture series from the authors of this book, "Crucial Conversations". The book is a fascinating study about communication and behavior, and has really changed the way I view various relationships in my life. (More about the book here.) Have you read it? What are some of your favorite books that have changed the way you think, communicate, and behave?

Hands down, WHATEVER YOU THINK, THINK THE OPPOSITE by Paul Arden. He also wrote the best selling book IT'S NOT HOW GOOD YOU ARE, IT'S HOW GOOD YOU WANT TO BE. I love seeing life through a different set of view points. His ideas are NOT what we are taught in school. Therefore, they are fresh, unorthodox, invigorating, and have made me rethink how I approach my creative life.

I definitely want to check out your suggestion. Don't you just adore reading and learning?

I've been enjoying your blog for some time now, but I've not commented before. I'm actually at ed week too! I'll have to check out that class. One of my favorite books is How to Improve Your Marriage without Talking about It by Patricia Love and Steven Stosny. Has changed not only my marriage relationship, but is great for better understanding in all relationships.

I work in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and we read this book for an HR management training course. I thought it was fantastic and eye-opening. So many awesome, yet simple concepts that apply to every relationship and conversation we have in our lives.

My entire manager bookclub group was really impressed with the book and we had a great weekly discussion as we read.

I was really surprised when I realized one of the authors was my neighbor growing up in the beautiful, little ol' UT. :)
