Dressing like a kid...

My relaxed and minimal style resembles the causal looks of the crewcut line more than the grown-up women's line. So, I thought why not play a little dress up. How can I make their mini looks work on a taller frame? Here are a few ideas...

What other kid's lines do you wish they made in adult sizes? I also played dress up with these and stylish looks for less... maybe I will share those next week.

LOOKS:
1: Ethnic Silk Dress / Moccasin Boots / Pink tights
2: Long Sleeve Shirt / Skirt / Boots / Bracelet
3: Sweater / Necklace / Boots / Jeans

I love all these looks, especially #2. And the boots in #3. Now if we could get the mini clothes in adult sizes AND recession friendly prices! I'm just not ready to plunk down $300 for boots, no matter how fab. :)

The boots are fabulous! I hate shopping, but I think that I might have to go out and get them.

I am so glad I'm not the only one that loves the "crewcuts" line better than the womens cloths of jcrew! They do such a great job of colors and layering with the kids clothes.

I love the outfit suggestions!

this is great! you nailed those outfits, spot on. i also wish the 3.1 phillip lim children's line would come in adult sizes (though his grown up people clothes are pretty great too).

I always look at the crewcuts catalog and want what those girls are wearing. Their outfits are SO cute!

Loves it. That last look is perfection. The boots thought... eik at the price. Too cute. I totally would dress like a kid.

Wow, I never realized it until I saw this, but I think I dress like a crewcut kid! (Although I have to say, aren't they dressed a bit too hip for kids? I can only see kids dressed like this in NYC--not anywhere else in the country)

Love this post! Your outfit picks were sophisticated and adult-appropriate but still had the same great feel as the kids outfits. Such a fun idea.
